before posting a sketch, let me know if this is within the rules...

I think I'm going to work on a seraph. the ones described in Isaiah 6.

the have 6 wings - each of them serves a primary purpose
they carry coals of fire

and the Hebrew root for seraph is the same word for fire, so a seraph is literally - and angel of fire.

...on the other hand, angels are not gods... but they do inhabit the realm of the divine...

mods... does it count???????
anyone else?????

I guess it could do, and if not you just say it is a Demon...or some kind of other god that look like an angel. Good luck!

well, we've got at least two entries thus far that fall into this catagory. i think in hebrew, demons and angels are of the same form. the title of "demon" is just assigned to an angel whos chosen a different path.

i hope the mods step in before we get too involved in our projects.

I Don't see why there would be a problem with angels they serve in the same capacity as demons to the darker gods so I say run with it man. :buttrock:

ok.. before I post the first sketch.. here's a disclaimer.. I CAN"T DRAW... I KNOW!!!!

ok.. that aside, some feedback please!

the reasoning for this SERAPH?

as stated above, the hebrew word for seraph (FRS) is the same for:
-to burn, and
-posionous snake.

we also know from the book of Isaiah that a seraph is the six winged angel who is in charge of worship around the throne of God, as well as the purification through fire of those who enter the throne room (see Isa 6).

ok.. enough preaching... how about some feedback?

a quick update....

I am faced with a little problem here.... a bump map is good enough for me here (I'd hate to model all the scales and the bump map that will be on the wings)... and yet it has to be submitted untextured. It looks very blah without textures..
...come to think of it, it looks kinda blah with textures... never mind!

its a start.

i would reccomend you "fuse" the stegosaurus-plates into the snake-mesh. then create little bulges in the skin where the plates exit.

um, i don't know if i made any sense at all.

it does make sense....

I just about gave up for this month... I hated the original design and was actually playing with a new short story I should've been working on since Feb.

I might still give it a try... I have some time tonight and tomorrow to get the momentum going.
You did make sense with the plates thingie... I'll try that tonight.

ps- what do you think of the wings??? I'm not too convinced.
