Before things start getting ugly in this thread too, here's a post by Gareth Morgan on Xsibase:

[also posted to xsi@softimage.com]

Hey Everyone,

Sorry for the confusion.

There is an XSI v.5.11 Foundation release, it's just running a wee bit late. We're sorry for the delay, but it will be available shortly.

To help avoid confusion going forwards, here is the commitment from Softimage surrounding Foundation versions:

When you buy a copy of Foundation:
1) You DO get installation and licensing support
2) You DON"T get access to Maintenance
3) You DO get publicly released point versions (i.e. 5.x or 5.xx)
4) You DON'T get major version upgrades (i.e. 5.xx to 6.xx)
5) You DON'T get access to premium support services

thanks,
gaz

They wouldn't shoot themselves in the foot by not providing an update for Foundation. People just got a little hysterical. Just think of how many pipelines have numerous Foundation licenses and a few Ess/Adv for the people that truly need it. That's one of the reasons why it's so attractive to base your pipeline on.

Does this release finally fix compatibility with the Valve Half-Life 2 addon? The addon stopped working from version 5.1...
