Hey guys and gals,

I'm looking for a tutorial, or tutorials, that show you how to create 2D art in the same style as the Nuvola (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuvola) or Vista icons, I'm not trying to make icons, I want to use the technique for other purposes. I've tried working it out myself, but my PS skillz0rs just aren't what they should be. I've tried googling and I can only find tuts for the simplest Vista Icons, what I need is more of a list of techniques, or some sort of reference guide.

If you guys know of any places that I can get it, please let me know, if not thanks for reading through my ramblings ;)

Thanks.

Ain't got no tutorials, but it looks like an excessive use of fat outlines(Stroke selction), even more than one and different soft gradients(set to screen or add).

Duplicating the layer, filling it with a gradient, set to 'screen', applying a little offset, blurring would be an idea for this shiny appearance.
The same way you can add object shadows, only using 'multiply' instead of 'screen'.

Some of the techniques used in the above tut could be adapted for your project.

Microsoft writes style guides and creation tutorials for their various OS icon sets. The one for WinXP can be found here. (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnwxp/html/winxpicons.asp)

I'm not sure they've done one for Vista yet. At least, I can't find one on MSDN at the moment.
