View Full Version : My room
vikramvr 06-08-2006, 10:53 AM Hi everyone ,
this is my latest WIP and Iam working on the lighting at present. Its all modelled, textured and lit in softimage. Im using final gather, combined with GI for this. Im also using a dirtmap shader to improve the contact shadows. The render time is approximately 20 mins. Please feel to comment on this.
This is being built for an animation and Iam planning to introduce my character in this scene soon

hey,
The render looks cool .. but the only thing is u r illuminating the indoor too much. The indoor looks too bright for the sunlight. A sun light with a boucing factor would have made them look a better. other wise the models looks good.. the cloth over the bed looks a bit solid. may be u should have textured a bit. The window cloth is the best. The translucency is amazing.

I wanted the scene to be bright like that. The animation is going to be a lighting chage from morning to night, with the ceiling bulb switching on and the tv switching on. Thank you for your comments. Ill post an image with less graininess and adjusted lighting soon. cheers.

thats a tiny little bed? are you sure proportions are anywhere close to where they should be?
those chairs compared to your bed are.. really .. not right lol

hi vikram
good work its looking really good but few thing i wd like to point out which r already mentioned by others like beds proportion with side table and chairs looks strange.
i think if u r using sun as ur only light source in the room it is too evenly lit u shd get more directional shadows from wardrobe and bed on the wall and stuff and also more bounce light from the sun. i am not sure but r u using ne kind of ambient light in the room? cause u r getting very bright light on ur bed specially on red bed sheet right at the corner.
shadow color is too gray i think thats ur dirt map. u r getting really dark black shadow near bed's leg and near wall panel between two curtains.
curtain material looks good but needs some improvement on beds specially bed sheets.
thats it for now man i hope im not too critical well this is wht i felt take ur time and good luck
cheers
