View Full Version : Races of Middle Earth - character - Odrakir
Odrakir 01-11-2003, 09:40 PM Hi, I think I'll try this challenge too, though I see a lot of competitors.
I only have this rough sketches of the body, divided in two because I ran out of paper.

And this is how the body will look like. By the way, the bad quality is due to that I don't have a scanner and I'm using my digital camera.

This is his head so far. No history so far but he'll be some kind of mountain climbing creature. He can stick his "fingernails" into the rocks.

Yep, as a matter of fact I'm gonna add much more detail in 3d that the one the sketch has... just because I'm better modeling than drawing.
I'm writing this as I get out of the cinema from watching "The two towers" for the first time.... I've got the feeling that this creature doesn't fit much in middle earth, but... nobody has complain yet.

A little update, I've changed a little the expresion and the shape of his mouth/nose to give him a more intelligent look

Looks great, I don't see why he shouldn't belong in Middle Earth keep going.
Looking good so far...keep adding those detail...the devil is in the details...I think it fits into the middle earth myself...maybe some earthier or more underworldy skin tones and you'd be good to go...don't worry to much about texturing but keep that in mind when you're modeling...keep it up:thumbsup:

Hopefully when I build some expressions on his face he wont have such an idiotic look

Modeling and idae are cool, but the textures are just to bright, not realistic enough to me,but that's just a taste thing I quess.Interesting creature however.
