Hi there,

I build a low poly character, converted it to SubD's and then to Nurbs. Good is that I got a Nurbs model looking exactly like the SubD model. But now I want to attach some surfaces, because as result of using the "convert SubD to Nurbs" option I got many small nurbs pieces, which i want to attach to one surface now.
Many surfaces I can easily attach, but how can i attach these kind a surfaces? I used detach and re-attach a lot, but after a while, I just get twisted nurbs surfaces, when i want to attach some surfaces again. I guess the problem could have to do with the orientation or paramization of my surfaces, but I have no clue, have to make it right.
OK, have a look now! Where the pink crosses are, this is the area I want to attach both surfaces...I would be going, if I would detach the right surfaces where the pink points are, but then how can I attach this part then. So I hope u can save me...from going mad.

Best regards Migi

Why did you convert back to nurbs?

It may be a good idea to chop up the sub-d model first so that there is more of a flow to the nurbs patches when you convert.

Whenever you have several patches meeeting in on epalace it is a challenge to attach them..youc an only attach so many of them.

Hi,

I think its a good idea, but now I have my model already converted and attached alot of these nurbs patches. So this night, I had the idea to detach the nurbs patches so, that I can rebuild some parts, so all spans matches! But, I not sure, if attaching will work the easier. Maybe stiching will work then too.....PLZ it must. :D
For me its just curious, that such an easy operation like attaching of good aligned surfaces makes such trouble.

OK, anyway...thx for the tip....
Guess, I didnt saw the wood with all trees in front. :hmm:

Bye Migi
