Hi Christopher,

Thanks for keeping us updated w/your short. I found the first teaser you gave us very promising, and your second clip is peaking that interest. :applause:

Everything looks beautiful, but there is one really minor thing that stuck out to me.

I don’t know if it is your intention or not, but when your scared robot starts to walk backwards, around the 0:25 mark, he does something that looks odd to me.

He pauses and brings his right foot FWD, then zips running the opposite direction. It had a “WB” Bugs Bunny kinda feel to it, almost as if I could expect to see a puff of smoke remaining from where he took off from.

If the character is meant to move as in real life, I would expect [this is how I’d move anyways, but I’m not a robot :D] at the 0:25 mark instead of moving my right foot FWD and pausing for a sec, I would quickly take a giant step backward with the right foot and then w/the left foot all while looking at the bad guy. Then the next step would be to quickly spin my torso 180 degrees off of the left foot to land on my right foot so that I would be facing down the hall to where I was going to be running FWD. All of this would be in one quick, fluid motion without a pause.

It’s just a simple observation. I’m not an animator or even anything related to the field, so I really may not know what I’m talking about here. So if I am way off base, just ignore this post minus the kudos

Looking forward to the updates, and thanks for keeping us posted!

~ Paul.

LOoks very Cool....
but it makes no sense.
Maybe it's because it's just a clip. But I don't see why Blue runs away from the red robot.

Oh well....great work though.

peace,

Fusion,

Thanx for your interest and support!

Well... it WAS supposed to have a slight bugs bunny feel. The rest of the film's character animation is pretty straight-forward and psuedo realistic... I just thought that would be a little bit of comic relief. I guess it would be hard for you to get the same feel since it's really the ONLY animation you've seen. But I will definitely keep your criticism in mind. Who know's... I may change it.

;-)

Cheers bro,

Terribly slow download... 1,3 kB/sec. If it's OK with the author, could someone post a mirror URL?

Congratulations on your film...seems like with advent of some great 3D soft creative people are undertaking a visual medium to tell a story. I too am working on "something" so I appreciate those who decide to take on such a daunting task, and willingness to expose themselves to the masses (and also face crits and praises). It takes heroic effort to commit oneself to that endeavor.

Bringing creative people together are not easy, but in the end must be fulfilling as it is the process of cooperation and creative exchanges to make a product come together. I salute thee..!

i didnt really like the use of DOF in this clip... half of the clip seems to be all blurry... shame, cause you lose all the nice details.
but thats of course just my opinion.

good luck with the movie, looking very promising

Amazing work, I can't wait to see more.

I love that music, where did you get it?

Or did you create it?

Mully
01-15-2003, 07:21 PM
The music is being created by an Australian name James Anderson. At some point he is supposed to create a site to advertise his services as a "musician for hire"... He's quite busy now though with Blue and other projects.

:bounce: THIS IS EXCEPTIONAL! It took a little while to load... but just a few minutes, not the 2 kbps or whatever that someone else mentioned. I also felt that the motivation for the robot to book outta there was sorta self-evident... I don't really get the criticisms others are tossing at you, this is top-notch. I really dig this, thanks for sharing it!:wavey:

I really dig the design !!!
was a little bit dissapointed while watchin´ the teaser, just expected the big robot chasing the small one..
Hmm, hurry on guys, show us more :p
