I did this UV mapping below for my character, and Iīm painting a 2000x2000 map in photoshop... but I feel that I still need more resolution to paint details, but I donīt feel like painting a larger map is the best solution, and so does my four year old PC. Is there an work around on this issue??? So I can use multiple maps?? Whats the best places to split them and still having no scaling issues?

why not just paint them seperately, then combine them in photoshop. If photoshop can't combine them, why would you expect maya to be able to ?

Maya can combine them. It explains how in the above thread I posted. The problem with painting them seperately is that you either have to make the whole thing huge in order to get the desired detail in certain aread or make it small and lose detail where you need it. The above method allows you to have a 1024 x1024 for the hands and a 512 x 512 for the arms.
