This is hopefully a helpful tip to those who use VectorWorks Spotlight and the VectorWorks exchange module with C4D. Without spending anymore time than stopping the crash on export from VectorWorks, and getting on with the job at hand, drapes at 21 meters long, created with the Spotlight drape tool, cause the VW exchange export to fail.
Depending on how far the export got from VW I occasionally got to the point where the VW import was a null object and some materials.
I had to create 2 drapes at 10.5 meters to solve/avoid the problem. I'm not sure what the maximum drape length possible is, but it cost me a fair bit of time on the delivery of a project.
I reported it to both Maxon and Nemetschek. Nemetschek said it was a fault with the exchange plugin. Maxon did not reply.
