The Daselmons

A race was on middle earth before man. They were able to fly and live in deep forests.Ancient writings do not have any word on them but they were beleived to be elven hybrids. They were fearless hunters and were unvulnerable in their forests. No living thing could try to attack them in their forests. Soron wanted to eliminate them before the war, he was aware of that they were going to be a big threat for him. And finally Soron poisoned their rivers and many of that race died
The survivors faced a fate thats worst than death.
Their rivers had something that was a must to live for them. And later the survivors noticed that the same thing that makes them live was within "blood". And this misterious race became blood thursty creatures that roams when everybody sleeps.

What method did you use to model this???

I can never get a head to look that perfect. Did you use splines? Is it a plolygon Model? patches?

That's a sweet head! The form around the cheeks/mouth is really nice...

Only 'crit' (ha!) would be that to me it looks as though there should be more of an overhang at the ridge of his forehead (where the eyebrows are furrowing) - but since this species has never been seen before, it doesn't matter! :D

this is getting so damn great! very well modelled, but please check his biceps and triceps, something is looking very strange to me, i guess its the triceps, its looking like some sort of tumor or bump, but not really like a triceps, my english ain't good enough to describe it, so i'm very sorry, hope you understand me :)

I think he means the triceps are very thin from the front. For how buly of a fellow he is, maybe his arms should be as well. Incredible model so far, i really like it. I'll be checking for updates tomorrow =) nites. :D

Good modeling as always from Silmarillion (who happens to be my high-school classmate!..)

Just make sure you randomize the wrinkles on the fingers, both the count and the orientation. I hope you pass some of your merits to me mate! I hope you invent some muscles to flap the wings, I can barely wait to see them..

Also, you could have made the fingers a bit less human-like. I think you get the idea..

Silmarillion
02-10-2003, 11:54 PM

from this angle, his body looks kinda too boxy, don't know how to describe but in normal cases, the human (if you wanted him so, no problem :) ) is round and not like a chamfered box

Emauher
02-20-2003, 01:55 PM
I dont think it has a problem with the torso but there's a so little space for his hips .. i think the legs should be lowered a bit and increase the space occupied by his hips ...

Well since I last posted you have basically finished the model by adding the feet, wicked !!!

Just one thing tho' and I think that the creases in the fingers are too strong so I supplied a smoothed version so you can see what I mean... It may be the look you are going for or maybe you have overlooked them ???

Anyway since I last saw your awesome entry he now has feet and actually looks complete so on that note you got my vote... :applause:

The Residual: Thank you :)

Virtuoso: Thank you man , Huh i feel very tired. This month was very challenging for me. But it was real fun and i feel great now

I havent replyed to this thread until now, but just wanted to say how impressed I am with your model. You know you are a good 3d modeler when you can post your work and without a name, know who the artist is based on their style, for ive seen your stuff on other sites. Great piece, want to see it finished! Good luck with the challenge, and see you around maybe for the next one.

Great work and style. You have a true eye for form. Though it seems to me that you're stuck to the similar body and face type (basically) for every male character.
...But You are great!
