I need to create Ink in water effect; anybody knows a good pFlow tutorial for that?
or any ideas of how to approach this,

Hmm, no tutorial I'm afraid.. Are you in the beginning of the project or have you tried things out already?
What is the water like, real footage or CG made? What motion is in the water? Is it moving a lot or is it still water?
I guess that grouping will be your friend because ink/oil tends to attract to eachother. For the rendering I guess you'll have to attend to www.glu3d.com for some great results. Try out PWrapper!

What you're looking for is called navier stokes equations and they're something that particle flow doesnt do right at the minute - you can try using a lot of turbulence effects like the tutorials hosted on allan mckays site but you won't get things like the ink curling around on itself. You'd need to look at maya fluids, realflow or possible glu 3d to do this. Alternatively rent a camera and make your own footage - it'll come out a lot nicer than anything done in 3d.

i just started this project so i am trying to see if anybody ever tryed to do this befor, it is a very quick trun around and there is no money to buy a plugin, i am using max 6 and after effects.
There is no water in scene just a 3d line of blueish ink the spreads free slowly 8-10 sec, and then disppers. similir effect that aardman did in the robinson ad a few years ago.

Take a look at the particle dispersion tutorial on this page down the bottom - http://www.allanmckay.com/html/tuts_oldvidtuts.html - It's not an accurate effect but the dispersion and fading away might do for what you need. To be honest as you mentioned you have a quick turnaround and no budget to buy plugins I'd either get some stock footage like the cloud chamber series from www.artbeats.com or use the tutorial above. It's really hard to get the swirly movement of the ink without using some kind of fluid system.

Hi here is my test for today,
it looks more like a smoke trail then anything, not like ink in water, any ideas are welcome.

you think thats hard try re producing a fuild like effect in real time for a game egeine its a pain in my ass............. this is a really cool like ink like effect that was done for x men 2 this is what i was told to use for ref for my project http://www.cgchannel.com/news/showfeature.jsp?newsid=1493

but my guess is they used maya.
does anyone knows how you can add a grow for/and fade for the size of the particals in Pflow? at the moment the particals just apper in the viewport.

They didnt use maya for the ink effect in x-men, instead, they used Houdini.
