View Full Version : Need script or ideas for animated short

Hi Guys, need help with a script for a short animation (less then 7 mins) for a local short film festival. Entered it last year without too much luck due to the fact that I was so focused on the animation that story suffered and I have vowed that I won't make the same mistake this year. Due to the short time I have to complete it, I have to keep it to only one or two characters and only a small number of locations.

So if anyone has any ideas it would be GREATLY appreciated.

How about a tortoise and the hare race style animated short, but in this case the tortoise is the speed demon and the hare is the slow one? Not too detailed of an idea I know, but with a lot of twists and interesting shots through some neat locations would be cool.

All I came up with was ....How about two guys see a TV remote at the local electronics store, (mind you they're just shopping with their wives) and thats the only TV not taken. They perform Karate Moves Kinda like NEO and Seriff. They perform all these wonderful moves until they see the sales man (*hint*- Agent Smith), the salesman in a black suit lunges and reaches for one of the guys wallet in his shirt, and the other guy fights Kungfu with the salesman. Before the salesman pulls the wallet, the wives show up and everyone starts to just act normal as if nothing occured.

I always wanted to do a short about a group of people trapped in a theatre with the same bad movie playing over and over, for days and weeks. They run out of food, go nuts, start killing and eating each other.

haha! completely nuts!!! but i have to say i love the situation.

Saturday Night Live did a skit way back in 1981 that was similar to that. It was called "Escape From Escape From New York" and was about a theater that was turned into a maximum security prison, and a group of people were trying to escape from a showing of Escape From New York.
