I've been working on this for a bit, but realized I hadn't posted a thread yet :D

Masamune Shirow inspired transport for urban deployment. Looking for the smooth curves and bulbs that he puts in his vehicles, because I think it's sexy.

I'm not sure about the propulsion system yet, I've got anti-grav rails sitting up top right now, but I'm thinking of 4 vertical turbines right now, I think it might look more interesting. Originally in the sketch it was going to have osprey-like VTOL engines but I wasn't liking them so much.

Nice looking model. So far, so good.
I think you are the first one to think of modeling a train...

3 more days!
:D

its' not a train, but rather uses two large anti-grav engines on top to stay in the air, with an array of fins on the back with smaller propulsion units for steering.

Minor updates. The idea behind the arms on the pylons is to allow soldiers inside to be able to manipulate windows and things in an urban environment for aerial insertions, and the landing gear allows for landings on uneven terrain.http://img282.imageshack.us/img282/6503/shirow35nl.jpg

No one has any crits? It's a bit different than the cars but I'd love to see what people have to say.

Looks good? Maybe a little to many tris on the hands...
What does the current Tri-Count look like?

Lets get this model textured!

The Tri Count is about 5580. I've just about finished the UVs.

Yay, time to get some sleep so I can wake up and work on this some more

Looks cool! No real crits, maybe you could loose a couple edges, but they may be adding detail in an angle not posted here. You're close to done!

Looks really neat. Kinda like a bee or some type of flying bug. :-) Cool idea!

I'm too much of a n00b to crit. ;-)

No spec yet, but I'm starting to make some progress on the texture.http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/8332/shirow75xi.jpg

Looking good. Lets get this bad-boy submitted.
Liking the reflections.

It'll be submitted once I finish the texture. It still has a long way to go, and it needs an environment map that isn't from the middle of a park. Right now the environment map is a 512 cube, too, so I'll need to cut it down to meet the rules.

Cool. Sounds like a plan.
Luckily, you still have all of today and tomorrow.

More work. I need to detail this a lot more, but I'm having difficulty figuring out what to stick on it...too much and it's not sleek and sexy, but too little and its bland and boring.
