so hereīs the background for the character iīm going to model. Concept art following soon. hope my poor english is understandable ;)
This race is called KOL-RATH. They are an ancient race with only a few living survivors. In further Ages, they were a proud but small race of warriors with highly ethical attitude. There only fault was to be a race of loners. Cause of their missing vocal cords they didnīt socialize with their neighbours and the distrust of the other races grew. Over the ages the fear and bad rumors grew that much, that a single incident was leading to a war against the noble Kol-Rath. They were nearly wiped out.
Only a few survived, full of hate and desperation of the things happened. The surviving Kol-Rath decided to leave the public of middle-earth and disappeared for ages.
Hundreds of years later, they came to new fame as feared Killers. They changed from honest warriors to machinating Assassins, operating from the Dark, working for everybody able to pay their prices. They are still Loners and nobody has ever seen two of them together nor knowing anything else than, itīs better to go out of their way. Some rumors say that the whole race has gone mad and is trapped between
their former ethical attitude and the injustice happened to them.

@innervortex: ;)
@ Iguiniz.X.: havenīt thought about this. But the longer i think about it, i think they should become relatives of the elves.
iīm already do the sketching, but iīm not satisfied with the ideas for now... letīs see what tomorrow brings..

aahh.. and i forgot something:
the design is strongly inspired by the great creatures of Patrice Garcia! I love his art and can strongly suggest to take a look at his comic books. :buttrock:

less humaniod.. hmm..
i guess the best way to change that is going to the face and the torso..
how bout some tentacles that do extra steering in addition to the arms and some more eyes? (or maybe none?)
cheers

yeehaa..
great development!
but to be honest:
i would change the mouth to something more neutral. with the look it has right now you lose a lot of the "mean" impression i would guess it should have..
it looks a bit sad around the mouth and very angry and mean around the eyes which does not really match that good IMHO..
but anyway: cool model (i love the detail where the ears would be.. can you do a screenshot of that area?)
cheers alex

back again ;)
i continued with the upper body. iīll finish the body first before adding the details to the face. I think heīll get some turtle like armor, which is part of his body. will add much more details to it.
