I wanted to create a sci-fi and an ancient mood in this matte painting.To create this painting I used 112 photos I took from my environment and 6 photos found in the web.
Some ancient buildings and some parts of the distant landscape was painted.All the painting,lighting and compositing done in Photoshop.Made in 2 nights, I hope you like it c&c are always welcome:)

hi, good work! nice picture.
there is something strange about the planets in the sky. i think they dont suit very much. but the rest is cool work!

I love that phrase in war movies,you know, before detonating a bomb there is always a soldier saying "fire in the hole!!!"..:)

Very nice painting, great composition. Theres three things in here that strike my eye though. One are the planets in the sky...they just dont look right. Maybe if they were lit by the same sun and had color?...i dont know. The second are the ships at the bottom left. They are extremley well painted, only thing is, all of them are firing their engines. Making it look tiley. Third is the sky line and the white haze that separates the ground from the sky, maybe if you made it a different color like that of the desert and the sky put together, it would fade better i think. Other than that freaking amazing stuff man, keep up the great work!
