View Full Version : Races of Middle Earth - character - slasher guy
slasher guy 01-11-2003, 10:17 AM I'm in.
I'll make a treeclimbing creature that escaped when the elves where being converted to orcs, went east, and evolved there to live in the trees.
They write thier historie on the trees, and a individuals on thier skull. I'm going to make one thats busy writing something into a tree.
They despise the orcs, although their ancestors almost became them, and sometimes have a orc skull with the word "shame" ingraved on it.
they live in forests with a wide selection of trees, and the histories are written in the smooth skinned ones.
Thier partial conversion to orcs leaves them with less love for the woods, and will destroy trees if they see a significant advantage in doing so.
they will not blindly destroy anything.
I'm still trying to think of a name and im still trying to make a concept sketch that i think you may undrstand ;)

they're not really evil, just not as good as the elves. I am trying to make them look a little bit more evil than they are. Im getting on with the head, will probably post a WIP tomorrow

Some comments.
all the oragans as the eyes eyebrowns nose mouth and cheek are really to high in the scull.
Move every thing down, c the blue spots in my pic move them to were the red spots are. and the green lines indicte from top to bottom Eyebrown,. nose mouth, cheek.
This will hel the looks.
Keep it up

do you guys think its ready for texturing
No really guy i think you should work a bit more on the head... use cut and use the web to document yourself in anatomie before to continue, texture is the ultimate thing to do... ;)
good luck

Yeah, Erik is right.
BTW, nice background color, is it not painfull for your eyes to watch it for hours?
Give is by the mouth more detail, (edge loops), create a nose as well. If you need some help, there's also a good tutorial from a french guy:
joan d'arc (http://mr2k.3dvf.com/tutorials/max/tutorials_joan.htm)
Have fun.:)
