View Full Version : Photobucket is Not Allowing Nudity

JUNE 5, 2006:

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT PHOTOBUCKET NOW DOES NOT ALLOW NUDE IMAGES TO BE HOSTED, ARTISTIC OR OTHERWISE.

This has been posing a problem for many of our members. Please report and link here posts containing missing / broken links due to Photobucket's No Nudity rule.

I am currently looking into other image hosting options. Please stay tuned. I would advise people not to contact Photobucket, as this will only draw attention to your account.

Why not just use imageshack?

Hi there, mainly I am concerned that imageshack has more or less the same policy:

http://reg.imageshack.us/content.php?page=rules

The following types of files may not be uploaded under any circumstances

Files that are [sic] pornographic. This includes, but is not limited to, files depicting...nudity...
Of course, nothing that we do here could be considered pornographic, but I don't think they're discriminating between types of nudity.

Cheers,

Yeah, the problem is I don't know how much the rule is enforced. In Photobucket's case, I think the no nudity rule is new. I've had work hosted with them for a year without any problems, then I think they changed their rules, and are now enforcing it (though sporadically). Like I say, I'm trying to find another solution. In the meantime, I would just continue to host with whomever you typically do, and hope for the best until I can find a host that will accept nude, non~pornographic images.

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

I've been uploading to imageshack since Nov 2005 and they've never reinforced this rule on me (knowing Murphey you should take that with some salt). Think imageshack could serve as a temporary solution until Rebecca finds a new possibilty.

So much for free speech though.

hope this helps,

- d.

I just uploaded 7 or 8 pics this morning that are anatomy/croque class nudes ... I've had several digital nudes or semi nude images at photobucket and nothing has become of them. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I was just happy that there are places you can put your photo's up on now as there was a long time everyone denied direct linking to images.

Boni

I just went over to FreeImageHosting and asked directly about artistic and art anatomy nudes. Hopefully we will have an answer soon on that site.

Feel free to use the image hosting I set up earlier this year just for CGTalkers. Please use it only for hosting your images for CGTalk as that's all it's designed for. :)

Picassa Web albums (http://picasaweb.google.com/)?

You can set albums to "private" where they're only viewable via a direct URL.

I usually use www.imageigloo.com but that Picasa Web Albums thing looks pretty nice.

is it ok to upload from blogger?
Should be - you can upload from any host - so long as that host doesn't take down your content. :)

Found this, free uncensored image hosting!
http://www.bayimg.com/
from the people who started the pirate bay

from site:
"You can upload about 140 different formats. There's even support for .RAR and .ZIP-archives! If you upload an archive with multiple images, you'll also get an album-address for all the pictures inside of it. Tags are separated by spaces, removal code is a password to let you remove images you upload.
Max file upload size is 100MB. If you're crazy and upload that much, then you should consider getting friends.

bayimg.com is a place where you can host all your images. We do not censor them. We believe in freedom of speech, it's of utter importance to us. As long as your pictures are legal they will be hosted here, but we reserve the right to remove images due to technical reasons though. If something crashes here, you better have a backup yourself - hopefully that won't happen. Usually we (http://thepiratebay.org/) know (http://prq.se/) what (http://thevideobay.org/) we're (http://slaskpost.se/) doing (http://piratbyran.org/)."

right but read a lil further...

BTW - If you tag your content, we would like you to know that we did not build this site for any kind of porn. There are so many places on the net that host porn and we're on another mission here than hosting your fap material. Put the porn on Imagefap.com or some other site instead if possible, ok?

Questions goes to abuse at bayimg dot com.

hello, I am new here, so any suggestion on image hosting site that does not forbid nudity anyone?

Actualy, I have two suggestions:

Picasa is really good, as well as DivShare. Divshare you've got to do a bit of work to get to the links of your images that you want, but Picasa is good. Just leave the album unlisted.

Yup.
