Hey guys, Thanks for the replies. OK here are a few of my influences for this demon, So you guys can get a better idea what I'm aiming for; A cool alien/insect by Wayne Barlowe, some Dungeons and Dragons monster ( not sure of the artist), and a bit of "Nemesis" from Resident Evil. Right know it looks more like the DnD character, but hopefully I can get it more near the Barlowe style, he's one of my favorite artists.

The more I look at it the face sorta reminds me of Mothra from Godzilla. That must of been in my sub-conscious as well.

so THAT'S how you use reference pictures... :scream:

Threedeemer
03-13-2002, 12:49 AM
Glad you think its turning out OK Hypronost. Henry the ref pics are the most essential part I guess, the trickiest part is getting the 3 views to match up as close as possible, I always sketch the front view first then use a lightbox to help with drawing the side and back. I decided to start the head now so I can have something to switch back and forth with in case I get "brain fried" during the modeling process.

While the body took shape from a flattend cylinder primitive; When it comes to modeling more complex shapes like a head I start with splines in 3ds max, to get the basic structural lines. After that I export the rough shape to Maya as an OBJ file for detailing. This is where polygon modeling takes place. From time to time I will switch to Sub-Ds to see how the mesh looks smoothed, but I rarely model straight in Sub-Ds.

Threedeemer

Cool, I was trying to convey that process. D'oh! Boy the "Fiend Folio" and similar books really influenced me growing up, If I'm not mistaken, that book I got when I was 7 years old.

All of those old D&D manuals were awesome. The picutres in them would keep me captivated for hours. I wonder whatever happened to some of those artists? I remember one guy I was pretty stuck on who did a lot of stuff for the D&D Basic and Expert editions...Jeff Dee? He was a little more "comic bookish/anime" than the other artists. I could totally be off on the name...(and maybe showing my age with this "basic" and "expert" edition jabber...yeesh).

Your model initially reminded me of an anime/manga called "Guyver." I think there were some live action movies made of it as well. I think there was a US version with Mark Hammill? Am I trippin?

Looking forward to your final model!:)

Wicked!
Wow, I thought I would never have to say that and mean it. It is true on a couple of levels. I think what people are feeling with the mouth is not a dislike for it, but an imperceptible knowledge that the anatomy is wrong. Right now the muscles in the face wouldn't really control the mouth all that well. I did a quick paint over to show a possible solution. I simplified the jaw and have it able to completely open at the bottom, which would be creepy as hell. I think that is a good direction. Also the skin at the top of the jaw would be quite flexible. Well, that's my spin on it. Take it or leave it.
Great job so far.

The concept sketch reminds me alot of Kevin O' Neill's later work on Nemesis the Warlock, which is definitely a good thing! Any influence there?

KOryH wrote : "I think what people are feeling with the mouth is not a dislike for it, but an imperceptible knowledge that the anatomy is wrong. Right now the muscles in the face wouldn't really control the mouth all that well. "

Well, in fact the muscles Threedeemer have done around the mouth could be like the one around the eye (orbicularis oculi) or the one around the mouth (orbicularis oris) . Each jaw could be independant, with their articulation socket near the eye (and actually, we can even see a bump at this point !) .

No, I think the problem some of us have seen is maybe an proportion/opening problem : imagine a human modeled with his lips wide open on his teeth... would look/feel strange too .

Well, anyway your proposal is quite appealing too, but I think all the food he is chewing would fall on the ground :D

Threedeemer
03-14-2002, 09:15 PM
Hey guys thanks for all the new replies, I'm getting to a stage where I'm gonna need some more suggestions. About the mouth, it should be easy to fix. KOryH, thanks for pointing it out in detail, very cool. Great info also El Tonio. He feeds off lifeforce maybe blood, etc. but I might as well add meat-eater to that huh? Although I'm trying to distort his anatomy from humanoid I have to keep in mind that it should still look functional; heres a brief update unmerged, I got a bit distracted and tried to start the wings, but they didnt turn out too good. I will definately fix the jaw problem tonight.
Puddelfish, Is there a book or website for Kevin O'Neill? Im always interested in that kind of art stuff. Maybe I can find something at Amazon.com.

bro, great job so far!

nothing to crit about really, I would love to see some more of your 2d skills on this thread also on your character. I guess since this is a modeling challenge, your best bet since you already have a pretty detailed character with just one mesh, is when its finished, go in and make tons of little things, kinda like secondary motion in animation except secondary modeling, where you bring your character to life with deformities, inperfections, cuts, creases, whatever, then you will have a superior piece,, muuuhahahah, dont ask, im tired.... but all in all, great start, keep up the good work!

absolutely amazing work! about the mouth, remember that general in A Bug's Life ? that went out to search for Zi... no wait, that's Antz..ok.. remember that general in Antz that went out to search for Zi... the flying one, well that mouth you can try and put on this little creature of yours I mean it don't have to have great teeth to look furious and mean! think about it, hope to see an update soon :) good luck threedeemer :wavey:

03-15-2002, 07:36 AM
Hi again! The head will be a tad bigger, It wasnt scaled correctly with the body when compared with the initial reference drawing.
I made a few tweaks to the mouthparts, so far its a mixture of what KOryH and Henry suggested, hopefully I'm heading in the right direction.
Your right Lorenzo somtimes using splines can be tedious. Splines are a bit like drawing in 3D and Box-modeling/Sub-D is sort of like sculpting in 3D. I always try to combine the strengths of the two methods.
TheSEL, great point about the detailing, sometimes its hard to keep that in mind as you work. I'll try to add some 2d images too, but my skills in that area have been a bit off lately except for creating static poses like reference pics.

Threedeemer
03-16-2002, 01:27 AM
Sangotten I wish I could paint like you, I really want to improve my skills in that area. Pancreas yeah lip syncing would be hillarious to try. Today I started the arms, there still a tad on the human side, but I'll fix that once I seam together all the separate parts, I want all the tendons to be more visable, without boosting the polycount too much, In preparation for rigging. Took a while getting rid of all the non-quad polys. I must have spent 3 hours on the arm alone, but hopefully I can pick up the speed.

This is my first post on this site. What a better place to start than on this thread, the best yet. I have never been so excited to see a model finished like this one.

Magnificent modelling talent and technic. I most say the first time i saw it it reminded me of a character in a game Mace: The Dark Ages a character called "Hellnight". The musculature of it is superb please finish it please...

Nims :)

Threedeemer
03-18-2002, 01:48 AM
BASSit please don't change your idea about the spine on my account, boney spines are not that uncommon give it a try.

Wraith the style of your character is so cool, the head has a sort of dragon quality to it, my kinda thing check out my website.

And Nimrad thanks very much! you have re-motivated me, I will definatly try to finish this model. :D

Not one of the better hands I have built but it didn't turn out that bad, these were taking so long I kinda gave up on them. I may still tweak the thumb a bit it still looks too similar to the other fingers. Maybe the fingers are too long? let me know.

Great stuff Threedeemer. Nice hands!! They're one of the things I find really hard to get right so yours really impress me!!

The sense of power in his body is fantastic. I would not screw about with this guys wife!! His shoulder muscles, especially from behind are excellent.

Hope yu intend to carry this past the challenge into texturing and animation. It would be a real shame not to.

Keep it up!!

Hiya m8 thanks for ya kind words:) Regarding ya hand, the fingers are slightly long but that is way kewl, IMHO I think ya problem is in the thumb, not what it looks like but its scale, If you enlarge the thumb a tad it may look ok to you... Hope that helps... Look forward to seeing more... That area below the ribs is still my favourite bit, looks sooooo kewl dude. :bounce:

Threedeemer, did u realise how HARD IT IS TO make a full mesh from splines???
NOT because it's hard as a process, but cause it's hard to move the vertexes arround. I'm workin on my char now and the HEAD is deatached from the body, the hands too, the legs as well and some other.

I LOVE spline modelling, greatest for oraganics don't u think??

Threedeemer
03-19-2002, 04:12 AM
Thanks guys, I will be sure to fix that thumb, great call. Yeah hands are probably one of the tougher parts of organic modeling, ears also.
Raul-Reznek spline modeling is great, I try to utilize all methods except Nurbs (kinda technical), but splines really help with the mesh structure and avoiding "non-quad" polygons.
Here is the progress of the wings, still missing the membrane of the elbow area and outer finger. At first I tried to make the membrane a dynamic cloth object, but that didn't work too good so I chose to build it as one whole mesh instead. I plan to use "softbody" dynamics as an alternative to cloth not for animation but for getting the wings to droop into a more natural organic shape.

I will look into improving the leg and arm size as soon as I attach the feet. I'm anxious to start the final rigging process. I also plan to add some more details to the neck, but that may be covered somewhat by armor.
Feet are always fun to model, this one is a mixture of dinosaur-ish, frog, and, cat. In this case I shaped them with extrusions from a cube rather than splines.

Even though the challenge doesn't call for animation heres a simple 'blendshape' test, nothing dynamic just testing the waters before rigging can begin. Its Divx 150k.

This guy is extremely evil!

I like those tests on the mouth, but I dislike that blue light you have used a couple of times. In fact, that is the only crit i have because this is a beautiful design and implementation! Great work.

Can't wait to see more!

Your Demon is one evil looking fella. Certainly wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley! I love all the in-and-outy bits (the technical term). In fact, it was your model/design that inspired me to enter the contest!

VERY NICE STYLE! great modeling talent. You've definately got a feel for character style and how to translate it from paper to CG.

Hey lowdown, thanks I will get rid of the blue eye. Also, The Commander and Sphere777, I TRULY appreciate your very kind words. I'm motivated once more. Thanks for the boost of confidence I needed that.:wavey:
Hey Nimrad I started modeling that Balrog, here is the foundation. Thanks again. For such a popular character it sure is tough to find reference. Im still working on the demon model, I just needed a diversion. Besides its somewhat relevent to the cg challenge topic. This will be my first try at modeling a "famous" character. At first I was considering modeling 'Venom', Spiderman's foe, or 'Bilstein' from the old 'Star Gladiator' Playstation game (the coolest villain ever in my opinion, he's Darth Vader on steroids).
But a fire monster should be more fun especially texture/effects-wise. I sorta had to "guess-timate" the profile view.

This really rocks. You've actually managed to inspire me! Thanksthanksthanksthanks! I've been looking at all the other guys work, really splendid and all. But they've all put me down, made me feel small in a way, you know ;)
But, you, you've made it clear to me, I really need to pick myself up and start getting some idéas, and you've put one in here. *points at head*

Your model is one of the best I've ever, ever, seen.
I've only got one, tiiiiny thing to say, maybe I should just shut up, but I think that you could make the hipline, [eh, around the dickeyplace, where the legs meat the waist, you know] you could allways make that a bit more meaty, right now I get the feeling that his body will tip over if he tries to move ;)
But that's only my highly nonprofessional [there's a word like that?] opinion.

Btw. what kind of computer do you use for this model? How many polys?

Thanks again man. And you just keep that good work up :D

Threedeemer
03-26-2002, 07:25 AM
Thanks three. Yup, sometimes its hard to stay motivated, A good method I use, is to always have more than one model to work on, that way you can go back and forth, and keep clear thought to the design of each, its kinda like taking a break I guess. About the legs, do you mean the gap between the legs or the part were the hip connects? I appreciate the critique.:D
Oh the poly count for the character mesh is around 18,000 I need to recheck though. I try to keep the polycount low for future animations, However the teeth, gums, and toe claws boosted that number to around 32,000. While I'm using my trusty Macintosh right now for internet purposes. My PC is sorta dated Its a pentium 3 550 It has 2 processors but my graphics card is a wimpy oxygen vx1.:)

three
03-26-2002, 08:27 AM
Hi, about the hip. I mean the part where those two sinews connect. Hm, kinda hard to describe, I notice ;)
As I know jack about names for different parts of the body in english. But let's make a go.
First of all we have the thigh, and then there's those two sinews connecting from the thigh to the hip. Where those two sinews are located, there's about nothing to keep the character from just falling forwards ;)
I think it looks a bit out of proportion and shit. Maybe it's just me... but from the looks of it, I would have made that part a bit thicker. Hm.

A mac? Hm, I'm going around looking for something portable, thinking of the Mac that's made of titanium. Looks nice and shit ;)
And I must say that you've got one trusty old bugger of a PC. Hell, I bet you would be able to play X-Com on it :)
I really need one of those old machines... want to be able to play old games, and I mean the really old ones.

I've been looking around for good schools that gives classes in 3D Studio MAX and other packages, but I've found out that what I really need is a school that's got classes in creativity and inspiration ;) the rest you could learn on your own.
But as you say, two good ideas and your in the cream. When you get angry or get a mental breakdown on one of the models, just switch over.
Good tip.

Well, hope you understand what I mean. About the hipsection. If not, ask again and I'll try to be a bit more clear.

Hey Man,

I'm really likin' your character a lot.

no crits really, other than a couple of proportion issues(mainly the size of his arms). I know that your not there yet, though.

Your character made me think of this dude from Final Fantasy 8(which sucked btw).

You may find these useful once you start tweeking the proportions of your character.

Whatever...It's all good.

Yeah...I found those pics at www.HLJ.com

At the top left just make sure that you choose "advanced search" then use the pull down menu to navigate to whatever category you'd like (FF8 for example).

This site has some seriously cool reference material.

Threedeemer
03-27-2002, 04:48 AM
Thanks guys! Since the challenge started I tried to work on the model every day, I usually spend 3 hours or so a day but last weekend I spent over 6 hours straight on tweaking the shape, Im slow compared to most of you guys, Im not exactly sure but I may have spent over 30 hours on it so far. I went through alot of 'trial and error' with the wings, Until I reluctantly decided on using cloth simulation, or maybe once I achieve a good overall pose I will add the wing membranes as a mesh. I kept him as low poly as possible so I can animate him in the future, When I create the sword and armor I will add serious detail to those though.:)
I have always been a bit "gun-shy" about actually finding a job in the 3D field. But thanks to many of you guys in this forum and your positive words Im gonna give it another try. Currently I am a freelance 2d animator, but I find 3D to be more my style.

Joel Hooks
03-27-2002, 07:52 AM
I don't think you will have much trouble breaking into 3d. With modeling skills like that and a traditional animation backround.

That thing must be a rigging nightmare. It would scare me to death :)

Hopefully we will see an animation of him attacking! That would be great!

Threedeemer
03-27-2002, 09:22 PM
Yeah Lowdown, my 2D backround has made the transition to 3D easier. You probably wouldn't think this judging from all the "Monsters and stuff like that" I usually display on my website but whenever I'm working on a project all I get to draw and animate are cute, "child friendly" characters for cd-roms.:D
Yeah Rigging him is more tedious than I first thought too. I wanted to finish the 'weighting' today but I think I'll take the day off.:wip:

For those interested, Heres a screenshot of the 'Membership Sets' for deformation weighting. (I prefer to use Rigid Binding over Soft Binding). You will notice that the arm is currently selected; usually I assign the arms and chest as one set, so when the arm moves the pecs sorta deform slightly. This could also be achieved with 'set-driven blendshapes' as an alternative method. At this angle it seems like there are a few tri-polies left but, I managed to achieve all quads.
(There not necessary, but easier to bind overall)

Lowdown, here are a few angle shots, Maybe in the end I can find one of those Global Illumination renderers. Im trying to design a really cool two-handed sword.

well.... personally, i would prefer smooth skin bind. i wonder why u like rigid bind over smooth bind?
is that because of the ease of the progress? or less complicated?

:)
well, hope to hear some expert opinion from u.

Threedeemer
03-29-2002, 02:35 AM
Thanks again Three, You gave me some good advice with that leg. :wavey:

Hi kfc! while Im definately no expert on that aspect, I do prefer Rigid Binding because its is simpler and more predictable, However, sometimes you have to use a combination of the two, usually at the ankles if your character has an IK skeleton, with seperated foot bones. One of these days though when I create another model I will try Smooth Binding just to learn it more.

mediumRare
03-29-2002, 02:35 AM
I also prefer the smooth bind, especially for organic models like yours.

To do the wrap deform, just import a previous version with less polys or just deplicate and reduce your model.
Then bind this lower poly version and weight it proprerly.
Then select your high poly geometry, shift select the low poly geometry and click create wrap. DONE!

There is some adjusting but it can be a good solution for binding a very high poly model.

NP Threedeemer, allways want to help ;)
Damn, I hate to get stuck, I've modelled a body for my idea now, I want to rig it, just to see how it moves and reacts, but I can't seem to get the mesh to keep together, it falls apart and I don't want a model with an arm like my grandmother [you know, all loose and "floppy" underneath? ;) ]

If you, or anyone can help me out, or redirect me to some site where I can learn more about rigging please, pretty please, shove me over there. I've read through the tutorials and help and books, but I think I [swedish as I am ;(] need something easier, lighter to read.. you know, not too difficult english or something.

03-29-2002, 03:10 AM
Shit, sorry for all this, I should've mentioned, I'm running 3d Studio MAX 4. I haven't got enough money for MAYA yet, but I'm getting there. I've been thinking of downloading that new "tryout"-thingey that Alias offers. Is it worth it? How much of MAYA will I get out of the tryout?
There are still questions to be answered ;)

I guess that MAYA is a bit more evolved in the animation-parts? Am I right? Sounds a bit easier than 3D Studio MAX's bones and bipeds... but I may be wrong, I don't know jack about MAYA :)

I've been thinking of Lightwave as well. But that's faaaaaaaaaar into the future ;)

Threedeemer, are the character moving towards final now or...?
Sppeeeeed man, speeed! :wip: *LOL*

Threedeemer
03-29-2002, 03:35 AM
Yeah lowdown, those new Maya prices are such an improvent.;)
As far as binding with 3dsMax its pretty good when you use Character Studio. Sounds like the Maya learning edition is a good idea to learn the basics from also. I always wanted to learn Lightwave better, I used it long ago since version 4. I never like to focus on one specific application. One of the most influential program for me was Hash Animation Master, thats when I learned organic modeling. Before that I used Strata Studio, Form-Z, and Electric Image. The only 2 major apps I havent tried is Softimage and Rhino. But I sure would like to. One thing I found out is every application has a strong point.

You mentioned you were working on modeling a character I was curious to see your website. Is it still under construction, or is it browser specific, I'm using 'Netscape Navigator' on a Mac. Sometimes there are a few sites I cant view. Just wondering.
Hands are maybe the hardest part of a human to model but after modeling a set over and over it gets real easy, I extrude the faces of a cube for the fingers and thumb, make sure the cube is divided in four sections for the fingers, and the thumb is extruded from a face on the side, you extrude once for each joint to get a rough boxy hand shape, After that you can subdivde or tesselate the hand to get a denser mesh, from there its a matter of tweaking the vertices into the shape you want. A great way of shaping it is by hiding, say the 'palm faces' (so they arent in the way), then using your reference drawing you can shape the top of the hand etc.
Also this tutorial looks decent, not the one I was looking for, but it may also help. (I have to sort out my weblinks)

Hi again.
I'm currently getting a website online, taking care of the WIP of Fallen Angel. Still very "hushhush" ;)
Ehm, I'll just have to translate the whole page into english as well... *LOL*... damn. Ah well. I've got some text about Lilith and stuff, you know, that gave me inspiration to this particular model. Kind of interesting when you actually start reading all this stuff. The hebrews had som really nice stories to tell :D

THANKS for the tip about hands. I'm really getting annoyed over here ;) I made one set of arms for Angel, but well, they sucked ;) You'll be able to watch them in "Pussel" in the menu at the bottom, when the site is up, IF you dare to enter a swedish site :p
I'll translate the monster sometime today as well [it's 6 in the morning over here, been working all night], I'll let you know when I've got it up and running?

Hey Three I saw your site, thanks for going through all the trouble for us english speakers. As for having having "no life", same with me, being a freelance artist its crazy sometimes when you cant formulate an everyday routine.:D Alot of hustling and strange hours.

I saw the model your working on, great start, the body is coming along nicely. (I like the proportions and curves). I see what you mean about the hands and arms though, maybe if you increased the size of the hands slightly and thicken/lengthen the fingers, keep working on those and you will achieve the same quality as the body.
The anime influence was cool with those cyborg parts, looks like 'Battle Angel Alitta' not sure of the exact name.
Thanks again

I made alot of progress with the binding (definately a nightmare) still gotta rig the fingers toes and wings; also add IK, then refine the overall weighting. If I have time I will add attributes such as muscle bulges, etc.

Since I am a big 'Yankee' baseball fan I could not resist adding a bat with the pose, obviously he will have a sword to replace that.:D

This is one of the poses I'm deciding on, once the IK is setup. Still have to develop more.

Superb modelling, nice detail...
surely though, a demon this evil looking wouldn't need a baseball bat now would he? ... get him into a crawling pose and set the camera cloose to the hands facing upwards towards the face... just an idea :)

Thanks -OZ-, gL_spear, Hmura, and Henrik Hörlin. :wavey:

Hmura great pose idea I will try that one.

Developing the sword. Yup it looks kinda like a Rolls Royce hood ornament. :D
I was thinking of adding an armored cuff-like shield, but since I'm steering towards the animation route in the future, I will have to sacrifice things like minor details. How would he carry such a large sword when not in use? I was thinking maybe he can materialize it from another dimension, similar to that posessed armor in 'Vagrant Story' playstation game.

:applause:I would have the sword, strap, snap, or clip directly to the center of his back if it fits. I think you should make the sword longer as well. Or just make a hidden piece extend straight out like a stilletto off each blade when he wants it to. That might look pretty cool.:applause:

Hey man, the model is sweet. One small thing is bothering me though.....
The handle on the sword is too thin, or inversly the blade is too big for the handle. It kinda looks like hes gonna snap his wrist in two trying to handle this thing. Maybe a thicker handle and pose him with both hands on the sword or something.

my 2cents ;)

Great work Three, were you at the New York Alias/Wavefront user group this past Monday?

Keep up the good work, you should make the move to 3D Animation.

all the best,

Thanks -OZ- and Lorenzo I definately need a bit of luck with so many great entries.:)
Great idea for the sword dmcgrath especially that stilleto feature, I will see if I can add something extra like this before friday.
mediumRare good point, he would certainly have to swing it with both hands I kinda got carried away with the width of the blade.:D
Thanks very much also dmonk, swords are such fun to design.:)
Chalkman thanks for those kind words I will pursue the 3D animation field more, 2d animation is fun but it is not really my strength, I have gained alot more confidence and inspiration from many of you. Oh I missed that Alias/Wavefront user group, I have to keep better tabs on those types of events.

F*ck thats cool!...I'd like to see it with a lambert material...
I can't wait to see this thing animated, I hope you put those controls to good use :) Great stuff!! keep it up!

Hi Parel and Fetus23, I model mainly with polys sometimes I start with splines.:)
dmcgrath I tried something sorta like that stilletto idea on the sword thanks again.

Here is a comp of different poses angles. I was struggling with the rendering and lighting quality, (couldn't find a usable GI renderer) then just got fed up, heres what I have, Hopefully this can pass for my final.:D
Keep in mind lighting/rendering is not my thing. I still got alot to learn in this area.
I will continue to post some single pose shots, tommorrow. Oh yeah, you will notice the wings are not physically connected. Oh well times short.:(

  :D Jawdrop!!!...noooooo!!! your char. is too smart and deserve a supparender!!!!if u are using Max there no need of GI engines 4 a GI beliveable FX....(it is my 4 am english from genova/italy..sorry).....Well,using the oren/nayar shader for the materials and 8 omnilight in a boxlike position all around the model(one r,one g,one b,one c,one m,one y color ) and a desaturated green light 4 ambient u can create a good GI base illum.Add a near white spotlight at 1.5 multiplied and the job is done.....it is pretty working! .....ps: STILL VERY AMAZED BY YOUR WORK!!! ;)

oooo, I like this redering style much more. That shiny stuff is odd!

That's wicked how the wing intersection is like hands with long tendrils for fingers.

Thanks lowdown. -OZ- I tried a similar method like you described in Maya, sorta like a dome lighting, thanks it looks a bit better. I tried to include views of the model from all key angles, and got rid of the tower just in case.

 Greg, your demon rocks. How does the voting thing work here? I 'm still a newbie at this. Also, I see you are using Maya. Are you modeling in polys or sub-d's. You rock and I am humbled in your presence. Of course I had to d-load that picture you put up. My girlfriend is gonna love it, too.

Congrats,

Thanks dmcgrath your kind words really means alot. Same here I'm not really sure when the voting starts, I have alot of favorites at least ten :D
I mainly use polygons to model, I try to use a mixture of all techniques, the only one I havent figured out yet is NURBS.
Thanks for visiting my site, I need to update it, Im still a bit clueless when it comes to web designing :)
BTW, I really liked your idea for the sword, I didnt pull it off quite like you described, but I will in the near future.

Glad you liked the desktop guys, you tempted me to try a VERY simple animation.:D
I still have to set up certain attributes for hands toes etc. He is a bit heavy in the polygons for animation purposes, but it still works. Here he lifts his sword. Sorry about the weird shadows.
There very small around 300 kilobytes one Divx version and one Quicktime version and for those interested, a playblast showing some of the controls in motion. Thanks to all of you guys again for the helpful feedback, I was really inspired, now I have a cool animateable character (with wings) I probably never would have attempted under other circumstances. See you all in future challenges.
