Koma
01-12-2003, 03:41 AM
okay here for the name of the race and the start of the story

sorry if its cheap it was write in french and translate by a translator

Cernecis
that came from two latin words :

nex necis f. [death; usually violent death , murder].

cervus -i m. [stag , deer]; pl., milit., [stakes stuck in the ground as a palisade].

It is a race very solitary and extremly dangerous. It has the capacity to traverse long distance, this is why he has tendency to follow the others when he see them,a kind of spy,he learn alot of thing, know the intention of sauron, know all the passages of the mordor, the castles of the men and the refuges of the elves, but if they see him ,he becomes terribly violent and death without is. he never eats it is victim he plants and sometimes of fish.

Koma
01-12-2003, 08:01 AM

Koma , it's really good modeling
I am looking on his lips, if you want, you can try create bigger lips, or bigger all jaws... i think...

KingMob

Incredible, man...

Now it's when I'm leaving the comp...

Ok, I'll wait until the end but just to see how this one developes... I love your modelling skills and all the detail you're adding. Me too I like making very detailed models... That's because I want to leave this challenge... I'll never finish my model.

Ok, now I better stop the bla bla and get to work...

Thanks for being so... ass kicker.:p

beautiful start koma. I've seen quite alot of heads from you lately and every time they just get better and better.

BUT! :shame:
I have never seen a body from you! I hope you'll make it a really big one for this character, with a small head.

work work work :wip:

PS: sorry for the "shame avatar". I love to put them in some posts, just to scare ppl a little! :D

Koma
01-12-2003, 09:25 PM
fellah -hello really happy that you love it ,i love your work man ,and dont be sorry for the shame avatar he always me smile ,and for the body well maybe i can sugest you to check my website ,i have some complete character ,and yes the character will be huge a really big muscle and veiny body .

Leigh - thanks alot ,happy that the texture godess love it:beer:

Faraguay thanks your comment is really apreciate ,im happy that this push you:buttrock: and will follow your thread for sure....you have some f....king nice detail work on your website:thumbsup: you rox dude:bounce:

okay here a little sketch ,i was thinking to make a kind of race that use Cernecis to rid here ,the latrocinor will be a kind of punk that stole secret an weapon at other ,they alos have some contact with elves ,human and sauron ,they use them has mercenary ,more to come ,and this race was suppose to be see in the movie but they stole the tape so they have been cut ... ah hah ha:buttrock:

here a rough skech ,was trying trying to find what type of armor they will have ,sure caracteristic : vampire teeth ,teflon spike on arm ,percing all over the body ,a big mohawk and a big dirty beard ,iam not sure for the face but they will not be 100 % human

Remi
01-12-2003, 09:29 PM

Nice work Koma. Looking forward to the rest.

[looks like I am not the only one with a deer-flavoured concept...and I thought everyone would be doing Gollum like creatures...lol]

Odrakir
01-12-2003, 10:26 PM
Now I know why you recomended more detail in my creature... I don't think my computer can handle so much detail, even if I knew how to do that.

Way to go :applause:

Odrakir = Ricardo

Odrakir
01-13-2003, 11:57 AM
I agree with you about detail being the key to realism. What I couldn't say is if it's better to model all the detail or leave it for texturing... Why didn't you use bumpmaps for some of the little wrinkles?

Great work again, I wont get tyred of saying it.

rolhionjs
01-13-2003, 12:12 PM
Wow !! seems to be a very interesting character ! or creature ;) Keep going friend ! ;)

mv
01-13-2003, 01:14 PM
Great...but me thinks the teeth are a bit exagerated..(and maybe too similar) ..he'll have difficulty to close his mouth without hurting himself.
But the head is very nice. Keep it up

eLm0
01-13-2003, 02:42 PM
looks awesome leave the teeth tho i think it makes your character looks slightly retarded abit more comedic than lethal spy type unless your other story ventures that way i still love it tho keep posting updates

Threedeemer
01-13-2003, 05:43 PM
Excellent creature! It really stands out, the horns/antlers look a bit frail, but nontheless it is a great model so far.

Labuzz
01-13-2003, 07:09 PM
Very scary creature and very nice details! I can't wait to see the rest!:)

Koma
01-13-2003, 07:31 PM
Martyyr25 - merci beaucoup cool de voir du mon de du quebec ,je suis de montreal ,vive le quebec:thumbsup:

Odrakir ,well thanks ,for the detail ,i think that its depend on what kind of shot you wanna do ,for close close up its better to have alot of detail or maybe using displacement ,and for animtion its right that would put less detail and use bump but this a still image challenge and i dont plan to texture it ,so ill put the more i can in the model ,thanks alot

.::STRIKE::. thanks ,merci alors ca va toi ?tres cool ta creature

m@. your right about the teeth ,but i was thinking to change the desgin my baest anyway ,thanks lot for your reply

eLm0 thanks alot man

Threedeemer thanks ,yep your right about the horn ,but like i said the design will be 100 % new ,dont really like her

Labuzz - thanks dude

well if you know me a bit ,you know that i always change idea ,the first was never the best ,and my master and friend xtrm3d that i respect dont like my design ,so i will try a kind of mix with an alligator and a elephant ,that would ride my punk elf .

okay so here the start of the elf ,pretty human i know but i will just be the ridder

Koma
01-13-2003, 07:36 PM

My dear TAFKAG (the artist formerly known as Gabe) - as your pics popped up I thought:  Sh•••t, that´s so freaking cool - I wanna be that good!!
Really love every poly of it! Is the hair the XSI Shave and a Haircut implemented thingy? Just bought S&aH, so I look forward to check out its potential. Keep ´em coming.

Koma
01-14-2003, 01:16 AM
ebur - here the new beast that i would make the story would came later -- ebur is a latin word that mean made with ivory or something like that ,this is just a start about 4 hours of modelling ,still some detail to had and have to think how the body will be ......... well tell me what you think i think the design of this one was better ,they more fit into the lotr world ....

and thanks alot pit ,yes this is xsi hair ...potential seam cool ,but limited like every other hair plug - in but they find well for render and they are really easy to use:bounce:

01-14-2003, 01:24 AM

well its probably just because the horn ,i was wondering about that  ,if i remove the horn they have no resemblance ,but they also miss something:shame: ,horn add alot of power to the beast and to the design

Ton modèle est complètement hallucinant! J'adore!

J'aurais quelques questions à te poser à propos de Nad... Ça te dérangerais si je te filerais un email pour poser les questions?

dakmoden
01-14-2003, 11:54 PM
I have to say I actually really liked your first model except for the teeth, they just somehow didnt quite fit in with the rest of the model, but it was beautifully modeled. This last one is truly amazing as well, either one looks to be shaping up to be winning material!

Koma
01-15-2003, 02:40 AM
Grub ,thanks alot ,i will concentrate myself on the beast first and after on the rider

nadeemmar thanks happy to hear that someone like it:bounce:

-OZ- hey man ,thanks alot ,im really happy that you love it ,and hey i stil dont forget that we have to make a piece in team before i die ,i really wanna work with you :bounce:

Wiz thanks man ,secret is in pratice ,and i think that the last beast have a better design but the first have more detail ,but the second one will have alot more detail ,maybe i will use the head of the first in the compo ,cut in the ground or at the and of a axe

Stillwell - merci beaucoup ,et oui pour le nad ,voila mon e-mail gab.t.b@sympatico.ca et s ta msn ben gab008@msn.com

dakmoden thanks man ,like a said at wiz ,i was not quite satisfied with the first one design ,the second one fit better into the tolkien world i think and the detail will come for sure .

okay here a little update ,really busy with other work , just the shape of the body .to give an idea on where i go

CJ
01-15-2003, 03:26 AM

and here the wireframe

Dirk_P_Ho
01-15-2003, 07:42 AM
Looks very nice, but i think the centre of gravity is too far forward for it to be able to balance, i think his tail is gonna have to be longer and meatier.

nadeemmar
01-15-2003, 09:43 AM
what Dirk_P_Ho said is right ...but fixing that will be easy if i make him with four legs

BTW .......Great creature you got there:thumbsup:

mv
01-15-2003, 11:14 AM
Great    I think two legs is just right, for the style, and for something else you are certainly thinking of too;)

Ok Koma... now I hate you. really. Sans blague!
Every image I see in this thread is good enough to win the challenge...

I like your last beast. But I'm not sure about the punky rider... It's a funny idea, but I wonder if it'd fit in your model... anyway, like you said, it's only the rider...

Thanks for your comments about the work in my web...

I'll be around waiting for updates (disons...une heure ou deux... tu n'as pas d'école???? Tu dors pas? Tu manges pas? :p ).

Awesome work, to say the least - keep it up!!

CJ
01-15-2003, 08:45 PM
Heheh yeah I couldn't help but chuckle a lil when I saw the udders. It looks kinda menacing with the horns and tusks... then I looked down an... you can milk the meany too haha :P

The models lookin good man. Only tiny crit I see has already been mentioned a few times bout the ability to balance well.

Either way I still :applause: you! :D

FraggleFart
01-16-2003, 12:26 AM
Udders are awesome!!
But looks like he (she?) would topple over. Perhaps some great big claw toes would sort out the center of gravity.
Looking good tho, and again AWESOME UDDERS!:applause:

dakmoden
01-16-2003, 04:18 AM
WOW  your models, as always, are absolutely amazing! :applause: the subtle folds of skin are superb and the muscle structure is truely superior! I am in udder ;) awe.

the only thing i might consider if i was you is modifying that bottom lip. through all the skin folds you, suggest that its outer body is mostly loose flesh and that large bottom lip would actually sag if that was the case. Just a suggestion though.

Great WORK! :buttrock:

Koma
01-16-2003, 08:22 AM
Dirk_P_Ho - thanks man and yes your right ,i make the tail longer and bigger

nadeemar - thanks dude ,nan i dont wanna give him 4 legs i love the look with two legs ,tell me what you think about this update ,maybe i will add two little arm just like the t-rex

m@. thanks man ,your monkey start looking pretty cool:thumbsup:

dakmoden thank alot man ,really happy that you love ,im not 100 % undestand what you mean because my english is bad ,but i think that the lower lip are okay

okay so here the update ,fix the gravity problem ,and add some props ,anyfeedback are truly welcome , do you love the evolution ,some idea for other props ,im really open for anything ?

nice.... but balance is not there still... altho theres a long big tail..... i've a suggestion....... try giving him feet of larger base, and make the base longer...... something like a crow's feet, or a T rex's feet....... it'll help a lot to balance i think,.,.
