Hi All. I'm creating objects at the moment that have a lot of attributes, but have placeholder meshes. At a later date I want to swap this simple geometry for final quality assets but keep all the attributes previously set up

Is there any way of doing this without using Polygons>Combine which just creates a new object with none of the original objects' attributes?

I've tried cutting and pasting, booleans, searching CGTalk and High End MEL Scripts to no avail.

Can anyone help?
