Wonderful. Very natural look. And sexy. But there is one thing that really is irritating me. The color of the clothes. Saturation and Brightness are too strong for my liking. Every time i look at the picture I see the cloths first and then the character. Should it not be reverse? Anyway great work!

Yet another superbly made lady.
She kinda reminds me of a more realistic version of Yuna in her 'concert' costume from FFX-2, what with that frilly stuff and all.

Excellent work once again - such good lighting and shaders!

Any chance of seeing the wireframe? They inspire me so much because they are fairly simplistic and un-detailed. Ive found that the thing that makes you work look so special is not the insane mesh detail, but the fantastic texturing and lighting.

One minor thing - underneath her breast on the right of the picture, it looks a bit like the ribbed effect on her garment is suffering from a localised patch of inverted bump mapping - or is it just me?

Traxx: maybe you're right about bright and dark parts. And no, I have not rendered more views :)
SUS : the lighting is quite simple and the same for the whole picture one fill light, one rim light and one main light.
JaCK4L: there's really nothing uncommon in the way my picture are created. I mean I first model everything poly by poly, then paint my maps with PS set up lighting, render with mental ray and add color correctons with PS.
AndyH : concerning the texturing "issue" : actually I use a little trick to get some kind of reflective tissus: I make them slightly reflective with a simple gradient map as environnement map. So in this area, this effect is really strong due to the fast variations of the surface normals, that's why I get this sort of artefact.

Great portrait as usual. I am not bored seeing your new and new images, because even if they are similar, they are suggesting a very good mood.

To be honest, my favourite is the Red Opium image, it's excellent.

If I'm allowed to express my feelings, there are many portraits around (especially monsters, grotesque figures) that are totally pointless, but I feel your works are not. Not because of the subjects, but somehow I feel better with them...or something like that...

Keep up the good work!

By the way, it would be nice to see some production details, eg. how many hours you used to spend, and what is your method of finding references, etc. It woul be even more inspiring for artists like me...

It tooks me about one month to complete it. I've started this picture during the latest challenge. But since my latest girl picture ( red opium), I've done many tests, and particularly two pictures(one of these is in Expose4). But I think it was not that convincing compared to this one .
No woman particularly inspired me for this picture, I've just put together different facial features I like, trying to get get beauty and harmony. I also tryed at the beginning to make her not purely 'white' but with several racial influences.

I'm sorry if I don't reply to all your questions but I'm quite busy with my internship.
JAF ce n'est pas un chat donc les réponses peuvent prendre du temps, surtout que beaucoup de personnes ici bossent... Et je n'ai juste pas eu le temps de regrader ma scene hier soir. Je le fais donc ce matin avant de partir au taf... De plus si tu avais pris la peine de regarder au dessus j'ai deja repondu à des questions, sans parler des messages pv.
The parameters used for my eye/water material are really simple: IOR 1,33, transparency 100% and reflection 15%, with a lil HDR environement map to get nice reflections. I'm using max raytrace materials.
About the lighting, it's also basic : one main light, one rim light and one fill light. All these lights are area lights casting soft shadows. The fill light, placed in front of the character, is particularly big to simulate some kind of light plane. I don't have time right now, but I'll post a view of my scene with its lights later.

Quand j'active le local environnement pour les réflexions du fast skin shader, tout mon modèle génère de la reflexion alors que je ne veux l'effet qu'au niveau des lèvres et du contour des yeux.

Hi Olivier,

I'm a big fan of your work and I must say this is your best work yet! Everything from her expression to the blueish moon lighting and atmosphere looks thoroughly captivating. And the detail work on the key/necklace is just superb! The only thing that looks a little off is the attenuated shadow falling from the necklace onto her neck. It might be a JPEG compression issue or you might need to increase the number of samples to get a smoother graduation.

Other than that, this is one of the best CG works I've seen lately! Really well done! You've really given me something to shoot for in my own work. Thanks!

Goyo: It took me about one month (not full time cause this is a hobby) to complete the picture. I always do everything in my pictures: model, textures, light ....
Painting textures is not that long (~one week), the most difficult part is to find the right shader settings/mutipliers to use these textures.
And yes, I stick to stills :)

That's exactly what the Silver Key looks like! The short story, by H.P. Lovecraft, is one of my favourites, and that's pretty much how I imagined the key itself to look like. Very impressive.. you put something to paper that triggers my memory of the story so strongly I'm not quire sure how to put the experience into words.

I post very rarely, if at all. I lurk most of the time, but this image made me sit up and think to myself: I've got to tell the artist what his image means to me.

Thank you for allowing me to see this image. It was a true privilege for me.
