Canadranc
Deep in the heart of Mirkwood live a most foul race, known as the Canadranc. Their name, which means, “four arms,” derives from the Sindarin language. Canadranc stand roughly five feet tall and have two sets of arms, one attached at the shoulders and a second pair located on the creatures back, overlapping the shoulder blades. They stride from tree to tree, making there homes in the canopy, only coming to the ground in search of prey. Innocent travelers and adventure seekers alike have rarely escaped an encounter with the ferocious Canadranc of Mirkwood. Sharp claws and incredible speed make them vicious opponents.

My biggest fear right now is that he'll look like Gollum with four arms. :p I'm going to do what I can to avoid that.

the sketch doesn't look too gollum like so if you keep with that it shouldl be ok, it looks really cool though :)

Great concept!!! Hehe. That maybe because I was planning myself to do exactly the same... Well, not exactly, but almost. I was thinking more of a humanoid look (taller than your Canadranc and only two arms)... mi-animal, mi-human hunters of the woods.

Anyway, good luck and I'm sure you're going to make it great.
Next time I will be faster...hehe. :wip:

Nice start.I use both Max and Maya,it's the best of both Worlds.:)

I think the Canadranc of the deep Mirkwood will be quite interesting,it's going to be fun to see him/her/it come to life.

Hey that's looking cool, Chad! Although I do agree that it does look a bit like an alien... but then again, who's to say that Middle Earth was never visited by aliens, eh? ;)
Cool stuff, looking forward to seeing some more! :D

This matches Middle Earth perfectly - im stressed as hell what it will look like with a cool texture.

Maybe he could afford thicker lips since they do look a little lost with his mouth opend :hmm:

cerreto, pigwater, dark_lotus, Faraguay: Thanks guys!

ahrens I'm trying as hard as I can to come up with a good texture. I want something that will feel like its alive/real.

dies-irae: Well then I'm on the right track I guess! :p

Heres the body so far. I've switched to Wings3D so I can move faster. I still need to get the 2nd pair of arms bulked out before I detail the rest of his body.

good job mate. need to work on the eyes a little more. also the torso looks too flimsy. it wouldn't support a head like that.

chadlychoo
02-01-2003, 10:02 PM
Finally I can update!! I've decided to scrap the head because of its resemblance to Gollum. Here is the new head design along with a new torso model. The nubs you see in its back will be the back arms.

Crazy! Back Arms! :) Looking forward to the musculature!

Keep up the good work!

That body is looking so good chad! I'm lovin' it. Im not sure the head really matches the slimness of the body, but I'll have to wait until you attatch it on there. :wip: work work work!

chadlychoo
02-06-2003, 06:30 AM
Rye:Thanks man! I've just slimmed the face so its more bony.

Here is a little update, I've added some mesh for the wrinkles. Here is what it will look like when they are put into effect.

Ok here is another update. This is the final head. All I need are teeth, gums, and a tounge then I'll attach it to the body. Also there aren't any textures on the head (eyes are textured). :bounce:

Wiz:Wiz my good ol' pal! Yes yes we started about the same time. I've loved watching your progress! Always makes me want to work work work.

Ok I've been experiencing some technical difficulties and school has been hammering me lately. I got a few minutes to work on it tonight so I tweaked the head (sheesh! when will I finish the d@mn thing!) so that it didn't look so human. I still need to add ears... :wip:
Now lets see if this new web host works...
