Bill Kovacs, co-founder of Wavefront, winner of Scientific and Engineering Academy award in 1997 died at his home in camarillo.

Not sure if this is appropriate, but Wavefront was one of the reasons that peeked my interest in 3d (I went to school in Santa Barbara, where Wavefront originated).

By all accounts, an amazing fellow. Very sad news to hear.

Sad News, indeed. I tip my hat to Bill and all the other 'wavers' from back in the day. My condolences to all who knew him.
