When I'm moving a layer (literally, just with the arrow keys) one pixel is too far, is there a way to move things in even smaller increments?

There is no physical way to move something less than one pixel. An image is a large grid and each grid square is a pixel. You cannot half-fill a pixel. Your best bet is resizing the image to twice as large or something, then sizing it back down after you finish moving. This will only approximate things, though.

How can one pixel be too far? Thats the minimum, theres no less than one pixel.

Using transform you can move objects 1/10th of a pixel but only if they are vector data inside a smart object.

If the object you are trying to move is rasterised, it will 'snap' to the nearest pixel.

Hi hiphopcr, i think i know what you mean. This Question came to my mind a while ago too.

PS seems to handle movement in relation to the..er.."Displayratio" ( donno the proper word), means itīs a difference to move a layer with the arrows on a 50% Displaysize, or to move it with 100%. In Order to move one pixel by one click you should change to 100%, and get back resizing the window.

Kind of yes.

Filter > Other > Custom

0 0 0
1 1 0
0 0 0
Scale 2

That will move 1/2 pixel to one side. Once you understand the method, you can move things 5/7ths of pixel or whatever.

Kind of no. There is the interpolation problem. If you do it too much, you will get blurriness. If you feel the need to resort to this hack, save it for last.

this won't work for all situations, but sometimesI just scale up whatever i'm having the problem with by 1 pixels. then it'll fit fine. but obviously you don't always have the luxury of being able to change size of things at will.
