This advanced relighting solution speeds up the workflow of lighting 3D objects immensely, because you are working in near real-time directly within the familiar AE interface.
The Reality set of plug-ins allows for effects such as
specular highlights
image based illumination (IBI)
bump/normal mapping
reflections
refraction
on pre-rendered 3D objects within After Effects. These advanced effects are achieved through the use of normal passes, which need to be output from a 3D program. Any modern 3D program comes with the required shaders or they can be found online.
