since a new race is the topic,
i would like to introduce other geographical origins to middle earth.
well here goes, make way for ....

The Vaculu

They stand about 12 feet in height, slender long limbs, two pairs of arms, and sturdy long necks. They are of medium IQ, medium mobility, and highly skilled in combat and witchcraft. They are a female dominated species, a tribe is led by a Chakara, a head priestess/shaman. men are scarce, and mainly live for reproduction. the warriors are all women.
They have been said to have originated from southeast of Rhun, and migrated to MORDOR after the destruction of The One Ring. they have discovered the mine wealth in mordor and begin to use it.

The warriors wear a big mask to their pretty gentle face. they are highly skilled with the spear. they also build ethereal dimensional swords that are believd to destroy Nazguls

Nice stuff levin! Really like those concept sketches. I really like her head, looks so nice, it just begs for modelling.

Now on to the critique. I think you should try to make the mask more carved. Less organic. Right now all the curves are to soft. It should look more wooden.

MikaelPersson

Nice, nice. Getting closer. Looks much better than the previous one. Maybe you should model some cuts from other weapons into that mask?

Great Levin !!! I really like that tribal Design !!!

levin
01-16-2003, 09:59 PM
:D

just made a skull prop, not very detailed... i'm gonna base every orc skull from this one, just adding deformities...

i've never done a skull before and web references don't tell much,
can you tell me anything wrong? i would like to keep the details to a minimum...

Kick Ass Mask!!! Very Head Hunterish. :buttrock: I can't wait to see this one finished. Keep up the great work!!! And I agree with MikaelP- I think some cuts & nicks on the mask would really add some character. 3DF.

Man thats awesome!

I love the eye\eyelid area of your model.

rock on :buttrock:

Joril
01-20-2003, 02:45 AM
Hmm, this is gonna sound really weird.
But maybe you should leave the nose off :buttrock:
The noseless wip was looking fine, and I had a look on your concept, no all to visible nose there too.
So, for the sake of originality, no nose.

...

what?

levin
01-20-2003, 09:32 AM
Joril... not at all... thanks

hmmm... i am torn apart now.

nose or no nose?

i wanted her to look gentle, not menacing...hence the purpose of the mask...

:curious:

:hmm:

MikaelPersson
01-20-2003, 10:03 AM
I like it. But it looks a little bit to much like a normal head from our current time/western culture. Maybe you should try some other direction. But it does look nice.

In the front view the skull above her face looks a bit to pointed or to small. Otherwise great.

.edit.
might mention the nose too. It did look like she had no nose in your first sketches, but the new model with a nose is good. Keep that.

Maybe flatten it to make her look like she is from another race (if it doesn't make her to sci-fi).

levin
01-22-2003, 03:04 PM
here she goes.

i've decided that Tolkien characters are more human like anyway, elves and dwarves look human save the ears (and height), so the nose stays. i gave her non human ears though

she looks gentle now, and i like it this way, after i texture it with tatoos it will look like a warrior then.

crit away...

The tripple breasted whore from Eroticon 5? or no?
Looking interesting, but I dont think those four breasts look that appealing. Have you tried just two?
I like the four arms, and I know how difficult anatomy gets when you go there.
I am looking forward to when you've joined the head and body. Right now that neck and ears makes her look more like a gaselle/deer.

Per-Anders
01-24-2003, 09:57 AM
it's looking good, but i do think that at the moment there's a slight feeling of displacement with the shape of the shoulders and breasts... somehow it's perhaps too even so it looks like they're just cloned above or something, i don't know. apart form that it's really great modelling and detailing so far, very nice.

Gregwid
01-24-2003, 10:55 AM
Well I agree with the displacement with the shape of the shoulders and breasts idea. And the four breasts are just pure overkill. Two nice ones are always enough.;)
The neck also is just way too long. However the mask you did and the overall modeling are good work. It could just be a taste thing,so no real biggie. maybe just a bit too ambitious.Tone it down with this character, like the mask,it was done with just enough, not too much.Anyways just one guys thoughts.:)

01-24-2003, 08:54 PM
Thank You All For The Replies!:D

Sheep Factory:Thanks for the support Ali!

Mikael P.:here it is… blocked simple limbs for proportions, what do you think?…I’mstill trying to push thefour breasts though..

mdme_sadie:I tried to make the upper shoulders more impact…scaled the lower and pushed it up….am I on the right track….? I’m kinda more happy with it now than before…

Gregwid: ambitious… hmmm I used to hate that word…but I know better now….if I do everything on the same level every time I do something I’ll prolly get nowhere…
:hmm:

BlueCougar
01-24-2003, 09:01 PM
Looks great! Keep the 4 breasts, she's not human stay with the theme you have going with the ears, human but non-human at the same time. Looking forward to what's next!

azazel
01-25-2003, 07:26 PM
Looks nice, I mean she looks as quite nice person, not like on the concept where she looks more dangerous and scary.

Gregwid
01-25-2003, 10:00 PM
Levin: Nothing wrong being ambitious,of course not.
I just thought the four breasts is pure overkill, trying to do too much,I was not talking about doing tons of work, quantity is good as long as it has quality as well. It's just off to me,just an opinion. I think the model looks OK as far as modeling goes. And the mask is done well, but just four breasts is too much of a leap.I am sorry for ever mentioning,it was just an opinion.See you.

the mask looked awesome so far
keep it up, wanna see some more of that chick, mayby a wire

MikaelPersson
01-27-2003, 04:37 PM
Looking interesting Levin. I would have made the arms the same size. Looks a bit strange with the small ones.
I like your idea of smaller breasts below. Maybe flatten and stretch them out even more.

azazel,BlueCougar , Frederic L. ,Iguiniz.X.: thanks for likin it!! i really appreciate the support

Mikael P.: you could be right... but lets see... its easy to scale anyway! ;)

finished the hand... i might be over detailing here as Gregwid is trying to point out...it might not match the whole model... hehe..i had much fun .... i could not help it notice anything wrong?

Nice hands, but that bump/bone at the wrist looks wrong. It should be a bit further away from the hand and somewhat more to the side. Otherwise great stuff.

MikaelPersson
02-05-2003, 02:36 PM
Love those small little things around the foot. Looks like you are putting in quite a lot of detail. Hope you are going to be able to keep the same amount on the whole body.

Everything looks great except the nail on the big toe. Looks a bit too long to me.

:wavey:

levin
02-06-2003, 09:08 PM
things to model... belt, arm and boob thingies

harly
02-11-2003, 08:33 PM
The details are fine!!
I also love her face.
But FOUR boobsies?!! Uuhh, well..

janhath
02-11-2003, 09:46 PM
Maybe you should have done three boobs. One extra one in the middle. But four streatches everthing too much, with that extra stack up top.Just over doing it I think. But that is just my single little thought. The modeling is really well done however.Nice extras etc.
