hi
recently i wanted to make a blast. so i made a scene to experiment: i made a plane - 8x8 faces, then i separated each face and extruded - i got 64 boxes. after centering pivots, freezing transforms, reversing faces i made them ridig bodies. then i pressed play. without any fields, initial speed or anything and i got about 1.5 fps. later i made a new scene with a primitive box, duplicated the box 64 times, made them rigid bodies. no fields, no forces in the scene - just 64 boxes standing still, scene similar to previous one. this time i got 70 fps.
where does this difference come from? is it something in the history of those extruded boxes? i deleted their history. i also set their normals to face and i have no idea what else can i do to speed things up.
