Hey! I like the style already ^__^
To me, there are some facial placement problems however. If you notice the eyes are not the same distance from the nose. Perhaps also lowering the mouth as well? Right now, it seems as if he is lacking the labial section underneath a nose.
Keep up the good work :p

The sketchy/crisp hair reminds me of the way they did the hair in Noein during the battle scenes

You know, even with this dramatic of lighting, the eyes would still be slightly illuminated from light bouncing off the face and then off of the hair. I know you have been having a lot of trouble with the eyes. But when you have this sort of problem, it's usually best to look up a reference. I know you're going for a non-realistic style, and that's ok, but a reference would probably still help all the same.
Good luck!

One important thing is missing, that is the shadow under the nose. I notice there is one there but it is very small, and looks more like it's part of the top lip. The nostrils should be in complete shadow.
Sylanya is right about the eyes, though, they should reflect some of the light at least from the hair which is quite bright.
Keep up the good work.
