Does anybody know how to mantain max influences when using copy skin weights in Maya 7. Everytime when I use this tool it works quite well, but the problem is that if I have a mesh with 2vtx per joint and copy wights to similar mesh (wich is also binded with 2vtx/joint) comes out that new mesh weights have 2,3 or even 4 vtx per joint?

Is there any script or is in Maya any tool for doing that?

thnx

If the extra weights that are added are realy small you can cull the weights out. I don't have Maya in front of me and I don't think that it is called culling but it is there.

Prune Weights

I know about prune weights tool/cull the weights out, but the problem is that the weights are not so small to eliminate this problem.
Example:1) original mesh has on vtx 133: 0.500 weight on spine1 and 0.500 on spine2, but the new mesh has weights 0.253 on hips, 0.287 on spine1 and 0.5 on spine2. So, prune weights does not work.

Any other idea?

thnx
