CGTalk - Three finger salute

When doing a demotape for computer animation, is it acceptable, in your opinion, to model/animate hands with 3 fingers and a thumb, instead of five digits?

Or considered lazy?

Dint get that dude. Whats the model fingers gotta do with the animation ??

I hope you've thot about the character design before starting your animation for your demotape. ??

I don't think the number of fingers is an issue at all. As long as the animation is strong no one is gonna care. The very popular generi rig by Andrew Silke has 3 fingers and a thumb.
