This is a WIP I have underway. The creature drinks nectar from flowers high up in the forest, and converts a portion of this food to a sugery liguid which it feeds to small forest animals. In return for this meal, the smaller creatures defend it from parasites and predators.

What do you think, and any advice which areas need most improvment?

Day two's work, and looking better.

Still need to work in the ground and tighten things up overhead. Any techniques and tips for taking this up another level would be much appreciated.

I have to stop for a while, because i think my eyes are bleeding.

Stage 3, worked in the ground and added a smaller creature to balance it out.

The glowing points along the base of the plants show the flowers. Only the larger creature has the right equipment to reach the nectar deep in the base of the leaf.

The small soft dome structures covering the ground are part of a fungus like organism. It feeds on the decaying remains of the plant's massive leaves when they are shed every few months.

Big improvement in the 3 posts..very nicely rendered & composed and i like the backstory too! maybe it could use a few highlights on the vegetation on the far right-hand side?

Its been getting mixed reviews there [positive comments but 2 stars], so if anyone can spare the time I would like an in-depth, technical and honest critique of this peice, as I am unable to determine wether it is well executed. I not only want to know what I did wrong, but also what I did correctly, so I know which techniques I am developing are actually working.

I am taking my art professional, so I take this very seriously. Any time you could donate I would appreciate very much indeed.
