View Full Version : Pose Mixer problems

I tried using Pose Mixer on a simple bone chain heirarchy, following the instructions in the Mime tutorial. As soon as I add the default pose to the Pose Mixer object, the original bone heirarchy moves into weird positions. The default pose is an exact copy of the original and all the bones were fixed and their rest, rotations set before copying or adding the pose mixer.

Any thoughts?

Are you doing this with SoftIK on? (During setup, that can confuse things.)

Where is the PoseMixer in the object heirarchy? Note that in the mime, it's not actually part of the SoftIK chain, it's a child of a null bone whose position is controlled by the SoftIK chain.

I can't think of anything else to suggest right now... but hopefully that will at least help you get started.

I had the same problem. I called Maxon and they told me how to fix the problem:

First drop a null into the where you would have dropped the posemixer into the hierarchy of your bones. Now zero out the postion and rotation coordinates for your null.
Pull the null out. This null is where you will place your different poses. Drop the posemixer into the hierarchy and add the default pose and the other poses as directed.

I hope that was clear.:)

Hey wolf_cub_one,

I'm having the same problem as you and bugzilla. Exactly how do you "zero out the position and rotation coordinates"?

Go to coordinate manager and set everything to zero

FYI, there's a tutorial on Maxon's site explaining how to resolve this very issue.
