Hi there!
I'm new here, and new to 3Dsmax also...
I have a render problem:
I open a weird max file (160Mb) that has some duplicated objects
Has a lot of glass and translucent materials. (Need to render it!)
The error occurs using Raytracer or Mental Ray, if I disable it, the render works.
(but i need to use it to have better illumination quality)
Default Scanline, Raytracer:
There is not enought memory for raytracer to build it's acceleration data structures.
The render is being aborted. (This occurs at the beginning of the render process)
Mental Ray:
Mental ray has encountered a fatal error and the application will now shutdown.
The error is:
MEM 0.2 fatal 031008: can't allocate 16211808 bytes.
(This occurs at 50% of the render process)
Any ideas?
I have 2Gb in dual channel, tryed 4Gb but it does the same...
(And had the windows xp pro 32bit issue with more than 3Gb)
