:bounce: Some of you who still play games may know of the JK2 mods 'The Phantom Menace TC'. Further still, you may have even seen our friends at the 'Attack Of The Clones TC'.

Well, our newest addition is the Trade Federation Destroyer Droid, which has taken a little over two months to make. Here are a few screenshots of it...

I also think the model is pretty good, what is the poly limit for your game? i also think if you put a more interesting and complex texture one it (not a confusing one), then that would help supplement for the low polygon count.

have you guys thought of the legal part of this game.. Think there is some kind of copyright on starwars. (lucas arts)

Rice ManX: the maximum polygon count in Jedi Outcast is 6900 - this model is 6842, so adjustments to it aren't as easy to do as they sound. As for the texture, a base colour is always used similar to the film's representation (before actual texturing begins) to facilitate which image maps go where.

McSpirit: since this is only a mod, and we don't intend to sell the models commercially, we are ok. As we also are not taking the full credit for the character's orginal design, copyright isn't an issue.

ahöm

this is not really true.
I was modeler in a mod for Q3A, topic was to rebuild Duke Nukem 3D on a better engine.
The process was stopped by 3Drealms who wasn't very happy to see that we use the name "Duke Nukem" and the other from the game (and we DID mention that everything is property of 3Drealms!).

So better ask, if you can use this stuff.
It's better to be stopped when there's not very much to loose than loosing the whole mod.

From what I understand, Mike Tullet (the founder of the 'Phantom Menace TC') already got approval from both LucasArts and Raven Software to create the mod.

Besides, we are not redoing an entire title from scratch on a different engine... we are making a mod that will expand an originally great game.
