I have a UV map that I created set to Atlas. Simple enough.

Everything looks like it's broken apart well when I'm looking at the UV.

However, when I save out an eps of the UV or bake the texture, there are some points that are reconnecting and overlapping all the way acroos the UV map, which makes the UV map pointless.

I.E. I have a hand in one corner and the knuckle or something has a point that is attached to the wrist in the opposite corner which drags the texture accross the body.

I've had this happen before and just gave up which is not what I want to do.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

firstly, if you're using Atlas then you'll need to unweld all points first & then do the UV

Secondly, why are you using Atlas anyway?...it's ok for some things but if, for example, you're UV'ing a hand it would make more sense to planar UV the top & bottom on the Y axis or, even better, use the endomorph method.
