CGTalk - The Heaven Project

Hi there :) I'm a LONG time lurker of this board and have been practicing art for many years, and digital art for the last 2 or so. I finally feel as though I have something worthy of being posted here for your perusal and criticism so I'm taking the plunge.

The Heaven Project is the working title for a piece of ficiton that my husband and good friend are currently working on. I am doing some concept art for them and would really appreciate the input of this esteemed community. The background of these images is way too complicated to go into here, but I'm hoping that all will become clear in time, as we work it out.

hi,

nice work! i like the feel and the concept a lot--that baby angel/devil creature in the top one is awesome. the 2nd pic i don't like as much as the first one.. i think the reason why, is because it feels flat in comparison. Maybe stronger shadows would help?

Thanks for your comment Pearblossom! :) I think the second one suffers from the "using the monitor settings too dark and contrasty" syndrome. It looked a lot darker when I painted it on my laptop and when I transferred it to my PC, it occurred to me that maybe I need to adjust my monitor settings. That and the light was an afterthought and I didn't think to darken the shadows.

Will work some more on it tonight and maybe create a couple more pics as well.
