Hi guys,
I'm creating a "virtual set" for a theatrical production, to be projected onto the rear wall of the real set on stage. The idea is to be able to create a much more realistic impression as the various elements in the set can be animated (fires, wind, flags, water etc.) and digital "extras" can be added to bulk out the action on stage.
The show is set in 19th century London, and I would like to make it somewhat stylised (although photo-realistic, as it has to match perfectly with the real set on stage). I've had a few ideas (colourising in sepia, or having a general smoggy atmosphere - as much of a sod as that will be to render!), but would like to throw it open to hear if anyone else has any ideas - I'm kind of stuck in a rut with this one.
There are various scenes - Fleet Street, London Docks, Spittlefields Market, and various interiors.
I'm mainly using Maya, 3DS Max, RealFlow, and PhotoShop. Comping will be done in After Effects, and final mixing in Vegas.
Cheers!
Martin
