There it be~! I really hit a dead end because I don't have a clue what to do with it next!

Any ideas? They're totally welcomed!

Hi Adrian. This guy has great character. I guess life must be tough being a donkey. Have you considered trying a mixture of texture and fur simulation. For a donkey this technique may work well because it tends to give a dishevelled look. BTW congrats on being given mod responsibilities at EP.

I love Adrian

That's a tough one... Are you leaning towards the real or cartoon side? I think you should go for dirty fur if leaning for the real side.

Has it been rigged? Need a shot of it sitting down:)

What a great ass!

No really, that is a great model!

Just a little boxy looking around the lower portion of the front legs and that's it.

Keep up the great work!

DaliFan: Excellent idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm gonna have to do that!! A cartoon sun would look so cool

ShaneB: Thanks, bro! Adding fur... Cinema 4D doesn't do fur without plugins, and the only ones that let you "comb" the fur, are beyond my price range (ACK!)

TMortan: LoL, how can you love me if you just met me = ) I think I'm going to end up rigging it before texturing it! ...which may be a bad idea... (?)

Medula: What's up my fellow C4D user!?!? I agree, it is boxy around the legs... I'm gonna have to do something about that. But it's nice to know that you like my ass (he he)

oh yeah, in case you're wondering... here's the furthest I got with textures before kickin' the ol bucket. It looks like the donkey's got a rash!

I really don't like these textures!

That's a hilarious small dude ;)

I was watching Shrek when I saw the thread yesterday, this one's a different donkey, but he has style. Great work!

the untextured version is soooooo cute!!!

i would go for a cartoon like look, no bump no reflection just colors with colored shadows and a stylized background. maybee a liittle shack and a tree or two, definelitely a cartoon sun :)

really sweet.

Dude I love the emotion in that first render! The color, it's expression...you really captured a great Eeyore / worked-too-damn-long donkey.

Excelent!

great character! the fur texture could be a little less even and maybe darker, he's already got a lot of character, so keep going :)

hehe that looks ace
can't see anything wrong with it at all, I like his snout, he's got a lot of character :bounce: :applause:

for his fur perhaps try a fresnel shader in the luminance or diffuse channel, it might give him a velvety fur kinda look

great work so far though :)

Very cute, I like it a lot, but you should rework the material, the grey one looks better...

Squid... fresnel shaders in the luminance channel... I don't know anything about bhodinut shaders but I'll give it a try!
