A weird character experiment, somewhat inspired by the gritty warhammer 40k fantasy / sci fi mix.

My original was an insult to all things equine :D, but thanks to a lot of help from Steven Stahlbergs paintover thread I feel its much more presentable..

Done in photoshop with a 6x8 wacom

This is really well painted, and looks really good.

One thing that bothers me though, is the pose. It looks off balance, or like if he's rearing up, he hasn't reared up very high or in a natural looking way. When a horse rears up their back is usually at a very steep angle. Also, the front legs look a little too small.

Other than those couple things it looks really good.
