Title: Frodo of the Shire
Name: Renee Bailey
Country: USA
Software:
This is referenced from a screencapture of my DVD at home - though it is clear I flipped the canvas horizontally, to change it up a little bit. I painted this in Photoshop - I am bad at keeping track but I think it took me at least 6 hours or so :)
I am a huge Tolkien fan - 3 tattoos will attest - so I figured in my efforts to improve my technical skills at digital painting I would use reference material that I loved and liked to look at. This one image happens to be one from the first movie "Fellowship of the Ring" (which fans recognize I am sure) that I feel really sums up the feel of the Shire and the innocence before the experience of Frodo's incredible journey. I hope I did it at least moderate justice.
I would really love to hear what crits you can give me on how I can improve my technical skills and any observations you have. I love feedback, and it really helps me see things. I have pretty tough skin, so please, give me the honest truth :)
