Hi guys,

is there a way to bring my LW parts or LW surfaces to ZBrush2? I just don't want to create groups in ZBrush cause it's kind of hard.
Any help would be great.

When you export your models in Object file format, it doesn't save surface information from Lightwave that ZBrush will read except for the "surface to parts" function which Zbrush will read as polygroups

If you don't want to deal with the multi marker tool in Zbrush which I agree is kind of a pain, then there's no other choice than to export each piece separately for detailing and texturing and then import those various pieces back into Lightwave.

So I can import my object in ZBrush2 and then I can convert my surfaces to polygroups? How can I do that??? Where is that "surface to parts"-function?

The "surface to parts" function is in Lightwave, not ZBrush. Once the object is in ZBrush you just hit the "Auto groups" button and ZBrush will automatically convert the parts to various polygroups which actually just changes the colors on your object which allows you to select and hide the various parts of your model. It is still seen as a single object though.

when you export obj from lw, you can build polygroups in two way.

part and point cluster.
part is polygons' group
point cluster is points' group.

when you export obj you save in your object these infos, and zbrush can read and use it.
