"Tutting With NVG's"

App: Painter IX
Time: 25 Minutes
Tools: Vine Charcoal, Pencil & Blender Stump

'Tutting' is a sub-style of "popping" a style of dance where you rapidly flex and relax your muscles along with the beat. Tutting specifically is a style where you have a kind of egyptian drawing post with bend wrists. I'm over simplifying the sub-style, others could exmplain it better.

NVGs = Night Vision Goggles. I tried to use a simplified set of colors to complete the idea of late night without getting to complex with colors. Dunno how successful it is, oh well :)

OpenCanvas + ArtRage for coloring at 25 minutes:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/gauntman/unfinished/sketch723-unfinished.gif

After another hour of coloring:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/gauntman/sketch/sketch723.jpg

Parsec3d - interesting technique. I like what this does to the color palette. I may have to give the spatula a try...
krpolak - The texture of real media will tell. Good composition, Very poiniant.
Ashton - the more I look at this, the more I like it. Framing of the big man is well done, and the houses crowding in make a nice claustraphobic feel.

Two natural media entries on one topic. Must be late!

Late night, when the bats come out (I was taking photographs of them all evening yesterday)

Alternatively titled "Fun with Fur Brushes"

The whole image is drawn with fur brushes, even the signature :P Had a reference initially, just for the sketch though... I tend to get too engrossed by the time it comes to colours to keep referring to a photograph, so if there are any bat experts here, sorry about the anatomy :P

I wanted to go for a slightly creepy feeling. I like the textures that painter gives without having to change many settings. Great submissions so far. Thanks for looking!

Gauntman - That's probably what I looked like at the hour I finished mine...

Howlinghorse - ...You make me jealous. Real jealous. I love the sense of movement and texture.

For some reason when I put things in photobucket, they either load with an red x or later show up with one, after showing correctly...or inthe case of one I linked to on my blog, it says the image has been removed when it hs been there for a while
