Hey peeps, does anyone outthere know how to bind a curve TO a poly surface? What i mean is for the curve to follow the movements of the poly object, instead of the poly object following the movements of the curve.

I'm not really sure what you mean. You obviously don't want to just parent the curve to the poly surface.

Do you want the curve to animate along the surface of the object? Because for that you could use:

Animate > Motion Paths > Flow Path Object

try the wrap deformer...

select the curve, then the poly..
deform -> create wrap

thx peeps, the wrap deformer worked perfectly. The idea was to make rope hanging from a tube, so i made a maya cloth strand, and made THAT fall onto the tube, then i used the wrap deformer to "copy" its movements to a curve, and attatched a rope paintfx brush to the curve. Now it looks as if the rope had fallen onto the tube. Well, i have one last question, if i wanted the rope to slide off one side of the cylinder, as if one end of the string were heavier than the other, how should i go about it?
