i like your model except for the shape of the cheek bones just under the eye sockets - of course this is a god and you may have shaped them like that for means of expression. nicely modelled though good luck for the challenge.

You're right Cerreto, I love Lw but I just hate its white wires in Wireframe shade mode so the pics are modified with PS!

Why didn't tell me anybody how to do this with lightwave - perhaps I would have tried to do something like this, aaahhhh

03-12-2002, 06:32 AM
If i'm not mistaken..it is not splines you see Thats how lightwave displays the sub-divided edes of the original polygon cage.
Cool start!!

LW is an excellent spline modeler.

03-12-2002, 12:09 PM
Hi everyone!
Of course there're no splines here, just subD.
Just finished the ears I think, so here is a little update, they need more work but for now I'm tired, and I got to start the body

What the HELL do u mean sub-div, those lines look as PATCH modelling all day.
If it's really sub-div, then I must say that I'm impressed on how u got them so SMOOTH.

Ok, so just a little post to show that it's just a low poly mesh (960 polys) and ligthwave's magic button "SUBPATCH" and voilà

03-12-2002, 08:55 PM
are you doin this head out of you mind or on sketch?

03-12-2002, 10:11 PM
I agree, your mesh structure is very efficient and well structured. Looking forward to your updates.
cyroz2000

Time Serpent:
I started modeling without any sketche, then I made just some sketches to note ideas and to test what could I do...

A really good start!! I just love the personality he got,

Thx for comment H-2-O,:)
for now I don't know if he'll have weapon or anything else, in fact I model as ideas come in my mind so...
I think that I'll think about it (weapons, equipment, clothes..) when the body will be finished.:)

Wow, great modelling skills!
BTW is he gonna be a good guy or a cool great hyper mega chachi demon lord of the doom?
Volker
03-14-2002, 12:54 AM
Great model! Very clean and stylized. I love it.
Anatomicaly speaking, the insertion of the peck and the shoulder doesn't look quite right. That's only if you want a technical crit. though. Can't wait to see what you're going to do with him.
diazgl
03-14-2002, 05:47 PM
ok, i am not gonna comment the model, cos it looks awesome (i just did, didn't I?), but HOW THE HELL can you model like that???
I mean, DAMN!!, what's your polygon count ???
PS: how bout a tutorial, hey?

Bonjour cyroz!
Yep. Amazingly cool guy. Frightening clean mesh. Coooool body (wish I had one like that ;)), but I like the look of his face most. He looks like he's raising an eyebrow. Will you add an expression to his face?
nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice nice !
Can't wait for postings!

that looks awesome and very mean (look at his neutral expression it's so aaaa!!) try to add some more detail to the body, perhaps form the muscles better
overall astonishing work!

thank you Henry,
you're right about details and muscles, but on the pic you saw there are no feet , I'm still working on.
For the moment, i try to keep a low poly count(2936 faces), when the body will be finished, there will be a lot of "translate points" and then I'll try to add details .

03-16-2002, 01:45 AM
i know he is supposed to be goddish and all, but isn't his lower area (genitals, waist and all) too big, or perhaps too up?

03-16-2002, 09:59 PM
Indeed, the wings are very nice!! He reminds me a bit of Kain from the "Legacy of Kain" game series
Wraith
03-17-2002, 03:06 AM
Did Kain have wings? Thought that was Raziel... Anyways Nice work man, glad to see yet another lightwave user out there. Doesnt seem to bee too many of us where im from :(
Keep the updates comming, I'd better get my skates on, looking round I seem to be lagging behind with amount completed & detail... Well getting back to it Nice one dude :D
puddlefish
03-17-2002, 03:30 AM
Yep, it was Raziel who had wings, or what was left of wings. One of my favourite character designs from a game. Second only to ZOE's mechs, outstanding.
Wraith
03-17-2002, 04:40 AM
Agreed, I love the Raziel character too... Just a pitty ya couldnt play him until after the wings were ripped off :)

i meant the face and expression, he kinda reminded me of Kain. You know, Raziel would be a nice character for this WIP. Not the game Raziel though...

Thanks for the comments about Raziel, I love this character!:)

Great stuff! The modeling is pretty spot on (maybe tweek the shoulder area and groin area ? but perhaps weight maps will help :))
I cannot wait to see him comfortably posed! And give 'em a loin cloth! ;) right out of Kain!
see you,
