Yay for making it into the CGSociety newsletter, but this quote gives the wrong impression, I think:

"‘Elephants Dream’ is created using Blender3D, free 3D software, engineered by Ton Roosendaal in the nineties."

That is the last sentence in the blurb, and if you just read the newsletter and not the article, one might get the impression that Blender's final release is at least 7 years old. It definitely doesn't give the impression of the ever-evolving, greatly powerful toolset that Blender has grown to become. Just a thought.

Now that is quite lame indeed. They should correct this somehow. A new article in the next newsletter, or a fixed front, or whatever.

It could've been worse. They could've said that Blender came from a Dutch animation studio in that started in the 80's.

It´s incredible how true facts told the wrong way can ruin some things... =D

Just to make myself clear:
- i have absolutely nothing against Blender (i would use it even as a word processor, hehe);
- absolutely nothing against Dutch people (think Van Gogh, Cruiff, Ton Roosendaal, Guido Van Rossum just to name very few);
- I have nothing against... hum... well.. maybe against the 80´s

but even if people think that blender was made in the 90's or 80's and they see the movie, then they have to be rather stupid to think that the last update was back then :P, I mean, hello, have you seen the movie, it's really cool, in the ninties, I doubt that any open source program was that good... seriously..

True enough Thondal, but they should still fix it. Maybe they'll think they've been working on it for quite some time now. Some mayor (anime) movies also took several years to make.

although i thought the storyline of the moviesucked , they should change the text of the news letter , just find out who wrote it and send him a personal message demanding rectification.
