Just a small update. I've modified my approach to the problem and shifted everything over from Wings 3D into 3DS Max. Other than that I've also added a few more details. I seem to be doing this in a different order to many people in that I haven't done the clock face yet.

I admire guys who can do this sort of suff. Modeling all that finicky detail drives me nuts.
