I have the body boxed out, but I was playing with textures a bit today, and thought I would post it for comments. I need to come up with a theme for him to give him some character/life. Open to suggestions.
I don't like the eyebrows, and i wish i could come up with hair, but alas shag is low on my list of software.
I think he's getting shelved for a month while i try out this new challenge, though I really want to try some lip sync. So much 3d, so little time. :wip:

the jawline is not defined nearly enough.
the ears seem big and too high.
the nostrals are a bit big.
but then again, it looks more like a characature than realism, so maybe you should emphasize everything more...
looking pretty cool. can't wait to see where you take it.

I am still working on the challenge this month, but I thought I would take your suggestion and tweak the jawline. makes a big difference. Thanks for spotting that.
Hopefully by the end of the challenge I will have a couple ideas for this guy....

Well I assume you are using MAX, so did you try scatter? That can make some decent hair, especially if it is short. Try making a 3 sided cone and then scatter it for the eyebrows
Lookin good.

Thanks for th tip. I'll have to try that when I get home this evening. The mapped ones don't bother me TOO much, but still I think it looks a lot cooler when the brows have some volume. I think for the top of the head I should just model a hat :) - I really wanted to do a mullet, but the couple solutions I've tried just looked wrong....

But seriously, it pretty cool, i like the eyes texture. Btw: I assume that you were trying to get over exzagerated features...? I like to do this as well. :)

the jawline looks much better now.
actually, not just the nostrals, but the whole nose seems rather large. that and there seems to be a slight bit of pinching on the upper lip where it joins the cheek.
not to say that it looks bad. this kicks butt over the head i've been working on.
i like your signature. one that i think we all get. i worked on my senior thesis until i had pnemonia...

I made the nose after a fella I saw while I was eating a sandwich at a deli a few weeks ago. it was monstrous.. heh - I probably went a bit overboard with it, but I wanted to make a shnoz
There is definitely some wierdness around the corner of the mouth. I was trying to give him a smiley-ish type expression and it went horribly wrong.. I guess I never got to fixing it.
These projects are fun, and I am getting better about throwing them away and starting over. Sometimes the tweaking can get a bit out of control. ack!
This is what it looked like after 2 hours:

The image above is the result of 10 hours of pushing and tugging (and some texturing too I suppose).
Hmm. I actually like that version of the nose way better than it's current form.. :sigh:
