"The VirtuSphere takes gaming (http://www.techeblog.com/#) to a whole new level, allowing users to walk inside a virtual space “while being totally immersed” — through the head-mounted display system. Built-in sensors detect movement and transmit that information to a linked computer. A special platform inside the sphere allows it to rotate in any direction as the user walks. Two video clips (http://www.techeblog.com/#) after the jump."

i've seen these before? i remeber someone showing it off on Tommorow's world (BBC around 1998) they were playing doom two on it, it was made by mancherster uni i think.

the diffrence with the one i remeber, was that the picture was rendered onto the actual shpere using projecters.

this doesn't work.

they where setup at the last Penny Arcade Expo and people kept falling over in it. plus, its worthless for FPS because you can not turn corners sharply when you run [kinda hard to stop the momentum of a huge metal ball]. cool concept, but isn't going to work for fast paced video games.

Agreed. Let's just create more paintball skirmish places.
