View Full Version : Unable to merge layers in Illustrator... help

Hello all,

Im having a pretty frustrating time trying to merge layers in illustrator cs2. I highlight all the layers in my layers and right click and it does nothing. I cant find anywhere in the UI that allows me to merge the layers i want to merge. Ialso want to flatten but cant even do that. It seems so different from photoshop where it's a breeze.

Am I doing something wrong? Please let me know. Is there some hidden button? Or is my illustrator just messed up. I just cant for the life of me figure out how to merge and flatten layers.

It's in the layers palette menu. That's the little circle with the arrow in it, in the upper right corner of the palette.

I think you should read about the pathfinder tool (illustrator boolean operations)
