Here is a challenge I am doing to practice Chracter Design/Concept skills. basically taking the characters from LOST and concepting them in an animated style.
Here is the Link:

hah, adorable. i'll be watching this one
my first thought is that all the focus goes straight to Hugo, not necessarily because he's the biggest, but I think it's because he's the most finished of the 5, so just make sure you balance it out, like some darker tones on the left side as well.

Hehe, I like them! I'd like to see more.

Thank you for the comments.
I do a lot of clean up digitally, here are 3 with color thus far(LINK):
I am finding this to be a good exercise for practice...taking an exsiting live action show and transferring the characters into an animated design.
My attempt to post the image here via a live link:

Hirley and Sawyer are definetly your best desings.
They are spot on.
But Locke, Kate and Jake need work.
In the case of Locke, I recognized him thanks to the shirt color.

I laughed so hard when i saw this. I agree that Sawyer and Hurley are the most recognizable characters there. Locke looks like Popeye though. Maybe you can put some freckles on Kate and make her hair wavier.
All the same, can't wait for the next update.

I agree, Hurley and Sawyer are supercool :)
Nice job, let's see more!
I'd love to see Charlie, Mr. Eko (my favourite) and Sayid. I think they'll prove great subjects.

Here is the latest insallment:
I agree....Hurley and Sawyer were my favorite as well. I was happy with the makeover I gave Kate digitally. I also agree that Lok looks alot like Popey...(I was actually thinking that when I drew him) I think Lok on the show looks a lot like Popeye. I plan to do more, Charlie and Mr. Echo I think are next, and I think this is a composition I will be able to expand upon...kind of like way back when (early 80's I think) all of the Marvel Universe comic book covers hooked up to make one really Long piece with all of the characters. Also with this composition some of the emphasis is taken off of Hurley.
